Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6: Xbox Series S 60FPS Update Tested!

Cyberpunk 2077’s 1.6 ‘Edgerunner’ update landed this week, adding a bunch of content changes and a couple of interesting features that caught our eye. For starters, Xbox Series S received a 60fps performance mode to bring it into line with Series X and PlayStation 5 (albeit at a lower resolution, of course) while the higher-power consoles benefit from input lag optimisations in the previously sluggish ray tracing modes. So how closely does Series S stick to 60fps and what’s the cost in resolution terms? And just how much more responsive is the RT mode now? Tom has this report.

  1. Good that they are still patching what is one of modern gaming's biggest disappointments. Maybe in a couple more years and especially on PC given moddig tools it'll finally be in a state it should been at launch… The talent behind Witcher 3 left and created a new Studio and CD Projekt Red is still not proven after the lies publicly and ignoring the previous devs that made them famous…

Still no news on a NG+ which has been a standard for many titles since Chrono Trigger on Super Nintendo. Witcher 3 even having one for CD Projekt Red. Only reason I can see still not having is just how terrible the custom engine is to develop for… Similar in a different older title like Dragon Age Inquisition that had a FPS designed engine used for a massive RPG… That game never got a proper NG+ and just what is some odd in-between.

If they figure how to add NG+ and continue fixing bugs. Maybe in a year or so I'll finally give it a go. Not even remotely excited for the upgraded Witcher 3 content as I'm half expecting a botch job… imagine a Reforged scenario 🤢🤮

  2. OK, I love you guys and you do great work, so please don't take this as mean but:
Stop saying 'locked 60' when it isn't locked. Something can't be 'mostly locked 60' its just not a locked 60. Locked is locked, it doesn't deviate. ITS NOT LOCKED IF IT DOESN'T HOLD, SOMETHING CAN'T BE 'MOSTLY LOCKED'. Please, for the love of whatever holy, stop saying that. It's totally a pet peeve and meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but it annoys the crap out of me.

  3. Does anyone know if the Xbox One version of Cyberpunk can be played on Series X with all the performance upgrades? I bought this game at launch but stopped playing after a few hours due to how buggy it was. I was going to wait to play it on Series X but didn’t want to spend the extra money on the Series X version.

  7. Please could you do an analysis video about the pc version?
When your former one was made, some settings were not working properly, furthermore CDPR improved a lot ray tracing with their last update. I personnally think that this deserves a new full ray tracing analysis.

  8. Incredible work from the CDPR crew in making this possible for the Series S folks out there.
edit: I wonder if there's enough performance headroom for an unlocked VRR performance mode for PS5 and Series X.

  9. i really enjoyed this game at release apart from the mess it was in, now its all fixed i cant be bothered to go back and play it lol, why does it take 2 years to finally fix a game at this point no one cares about said game and has moved on.

  10. I swear when I switch from performance mode to Ray trace mode I struggle to see the difference on series x . I don't get what all the hype about Ray tracing iss for ,but then I suppose its different on different games obviously
