Besides the resolution, framerates and sometimes lighting etc. I notice a pretty good diff in world population as well in these scenes.
On Series X, the difference is so negligible it's worth keeping the FPS, I don't think the quality mode gives enough difference to warrant 30 FPS
I use Quality Mode for now, i looks really better overall. 30fps Cap is OK when dont you should not change to Perfomance Mode for to long 😉 you cant go back to 30fps 😅
Lets hope the NextGen Upgrade comes soon for better Options
I’m not gonna lie ima go with proformance just need that smoothness
The problem is, I prefer the quality mode because yes, the smooth frame rate is good but I prefer a locked consistent 30fps over a frame rate that drops sometimes
It's all about that frame rate imo. Give me smooth gameplay over 30fps garbage any day of the week.
Idk man I can’t really see a big difference. What did you go with?
Thanks for the video. Finally got my Series X and I thought that I was crazy when I really couldn't spot a difference between the 2 modes especially playing on my 4K LG CX. Imo, performance mode is a must. Playing an FPS at 30FPS is a no go for even as a competitive FPS PC player too.
Performance mode looks much better to me on Series X. The extra frames really help smooth out the gameplay. This is especially noticeable in combat scenes. Quality mode has a better picture but not by much.
Personally I play in quality mode.
Rock solid 30fps is more than ok, and the visuals in quality mode is the most impressive thing I have ever seen on a console to date.
I'm waiting to see what the true next gen update will bring before I touch this game. I also want to see if the PS5 or the Series comes out on top.
The biggest difference I noticed with quality mode is higher crowd density, more cars, and a resolution boost. Other than that it doesn't seem like there's much else of a difference
What's the likelyhood that the "next gen" version will be able to pull off quality mode visuals with 60 frames per second?
I notice some frame rate drops when driving through the city on Performance Mode. I assume everyone else has the same issue?
For fighting probably performance than switch between quality when just chillin
Does anyone else also have problems with stuttering in performance mode on series x while moving the camera in high density areas?
When i look at the ground while turning the camera it's gone… And in quality mode it's also fine.
This makes me crazy.
Is it because of unstable frame rate? Or is it a bug? Or maybe a TV issue?
Playing on a Sony X900F… Anyone else playing on this TV?
Have a q90t Samsung and I use Freesync and performance mode can wait for next gen patch I want that ray tracing and farme rates
The other thing that seemed noticeable was particle effects / fog and lighting (occlusion?) was more defined/dynamic.
At 2:00, the corpse you inspect is covered up but I've seen in other clips the dissected body is visible. Is this a censorship option in the settings, or permanent based on where the game is sold?
I’ll share my thoughts (playing on XSX and a 77” OLED).
1) HDR in this game might still be broken (see Vincent Teoh’s videos) but I actually enjoy it nevertheless.
2) I was really baffled when I saw the performance mode for the first time. I expected a lot less defined image, a pretty blurry res but it turns out it looks almost as good as the quality mode. The difference is sometimes really difficult to spot.
3) I kept switching back and forth between both modes. It’s funny because the quality mode somehow does look better but it’s hard to pinpoint the reason. It’s something with lighting which seems more realistic in this mode…
4) If the P mode didn’t have FPS drops, I’d probably stick with it. It does, though, and they can be quite distracting. Maybe because I have no VRR on my 77G7… The Q mode is pretty much rock solid 30 FPS from what I can see so far.
Conclusion: it’s damn hard to decide which mode to stay with. So hard in fact that I’m beginning to think I should wait for the proper “next gen” version and play other games in the meantime 🙂 The big question however is what CDPR can do to make this version better. Judging from current performance, there doesn’t seem to be much headroom for RT or other improvements. BTW, the game has been running mostly flawlessly with no major bugs for me.
does the performance mode have RTX?
How do you switch between these modes?
Frame rate > resolution > everything else
Quality mode wouldn’t be as bad if the FPS was more stable. Idk what it is about it but it just doesn’t feel like 30fps at all it feels way lower.
I hope they add fps boost to this.
But there is still going to be a next gen update… correct? The next gen update should have 60 FPS as the default
30fps should no longer be acceptable even on consoles. Perhaps if we're talking photorealistic ray tracing on Unreal 5 engine, it might be acceptable, but not here
I notice no graphical difference with performance mode, like even if you go into camera mode and zoom into V’s clothing or eyes theres no noticeable difference. I will say the worlds a bit more empty but honestly it’s worth the 60 FPS
I'm usually a fan of len's flair if done right but I find that the game looks better without it. You can really appreciate the environments.
Honestto god i don t see any differences when it comes to lighting and models polycount
I have a 1080p TV, you can barely see any difference. So I keep the performance mode.
I noticed alot of players have the same issue as me, but in quality mode when panning the camera the game feels very juddery.
It's not only with cyberpunk, but with Forza and AC Valhalla for example aswell.
Don't know if this is an Xbox thing or something cuz I have it on both my 1440p monitor as my 4k Samsung tv.
