no you have no idea who deep the rabbit hole goes
I love how the three ending routes that involve curing V is a question of 2 devils you know, and 1 devil that you don't. We can weigh pros and cons of the long term occupation of NC by Saka or Militech, but if you allow Alt access to Mikoshi in anyway you're essentially going the way of the rabid AI. "If you gotta kill, kill. If you have to burn it all to the ground, let it burn". I find it oddly suspicious the doll in clouds has almost the exact same speech to you Johnny does.
Arasaka deez nutz
did anybody see the phone outside the oil fields from 2.1 got the code solved
Hope somebody will make game in Cyberpunk 2020 world, because retro futurism is nice.
Very good video as always , keep the good work , the lore about night city is insane! .
i wish you could side with Arasaka AND keep Johnny's psyche intact, that would be rad
I think one thing to consider is that there's no assault on Mikoshi in the Tower Ending. We know from The Star and Path of Glory endings that it does pretty serious damage to the brand, so who's to say how that would affect him
I've always perceived Arasaka as an addiction to the population of Night City.
A corporate force which people might detest, but will often fall back upon for when their situation seems bleak. For what this capitalist empire CAN bring as a positive to the table, there is often a knock on effect. Arasaka is always looking for workers and offering business opportunities, benefits, and sells high quality firearms to the open public; they also fund the Tyger Claws (one of the most ruthless gangs in the city) and delegate contract work to them. While they might commission efforts to improve quality of life through multimillion dollar contracts and philanthropy, they might also be poisoning the water supply in Santo Domingo, and children will suffer severely for it in the long term.
This can also be comparable to Biotechnica.
Considered to be the 'greenest' corporation; on the surface, their ambition in scientific pursuits appears admirable. Restoring vegetation in producing a manmade forest in the heart of Nighty City as a reconstruction effort. Creating a high demand, green and renewable fuel source in the form of CHOOH2, recreating animal life and pulling several species back from the brink of extinction.. But Biotechnica is also the same megacorp which will perform under the table unethical experiments with their pharmaceutical testing, killing 70 members of a nomad clan, or willing sell a medication in high demand, knowing of a terminal-grade side effect.
Where Arasaka differs from Biotechnica is not only their aims of creating an eternal empire, but also its position in the corporation hierarchy. Arasaka is and for decades has been the main competitor to Militech, and I say with good reason. When one business is selling a needed product in a closed market, that is a monopoly. But with Arasaka's influence in the NUSA with businesses and manufacturers, it creates competitive business.
Through this, we have at least two companies vying for favor among the populace, to see who will produce and sell the highest quality product. In a way, you can call them a 'necessary evil'.. Though I still wouldn't touch what they call drinking water.
I dont know why Yorinobu has so much power, he was basically a pariah. He didnt planned to kill his father, and his father didnt planned to die this early. So everything he did was improvised, not masterfully crafted. Arasaka is a family dynasty, but also a stock market actor, nobody knows what was on Saburo's will but I doubt he would give majority of shares to his rebel son even if Japan is a bit chauvinist in that matter.
And besides that, why so many execs would side with him? Arasaka pride themselves with the fact that they are untouchable. Now, with Saburo not only dead, but assasinated, it sends all kind of red alarms to the investors. They let the “culprits” V and Jackie murder the Emperor, their most sacred patron, and get away with it? Why would anyone hire them ever again? Their stocks should be in negative numbers, and if everyone knows Yorinobu is the reason, then I see little reason to side with him even if he has Smasher.
Most people would never pick a side in a civil war this early, most just wait on the sideline and bandwagon on the winning faction when victory is set in stone. Are you telling me that Yorinobu's faction is this much stronger than Hanako's and Michiko's together? Even if she has her father's engram that was enough to put the rest of the director board back into line?
They, by all means, should have access to a master key to disable Smasher's cyberware in case he ever went rogue (which he did) and disable him, depriving Yorinobu of his trump card. I dont know, it seems very Mary Sue or Gary Stu if female or male V is the only and definite factor in resolving the family dispute in my opinion, given how many odds are stacked against Yorinobu, he wins too easily.
