Ciri easter eggs in Cyberpunk 2077 are great, but when you put them all together they contradict each other and make the whole “Ciri was in Night City – as referenced in The Witcher 3” theory fall apart without some very interesting mental gymnastics. Mental gymnastics you say? Hold my ribbon on a stick.

Strange Stuff – Matt Harris

It blew my mind when I realized this dialog and the early CP77 trailers were connected. I'm really looking forward to replaying Witcher 3.
It is these conversations that make gaming interesting to me. People continuing to play in their minds even when the game is over.
Also, good games make you ponder not only about fictional characters and events, but also make comparisons with and evaluate real-life (is anything actually real?) persons and their actions.
Is it just and easter egg or is it a neural trigger, that elicits an internal monologue with the hopes that, once enough individuals share a common biochemical response to that trigger, it becomes an external debate.
7 generations from now people may no longer remember what "the blue pill or the red pill" meant initially, but if all of those generations preserve the understanding of the underlying metaphor, even without the original context, the meme, the easter egg etc. than I think the end goal will be achieved.
Mike Pondsmith very recently tweeted that Morgan Blackhand is definitely not going to be in the Phantom Liberty expansion, but that we "will lose our sh*t" when we hear who will be. If I had to bet, I know who I'd put my money on..
Just saying.
I wonder if people are arguing Yennefer or Triss, in CP2077?😂
What do you think? Will Songbird in Phantom Liberty turn out to be Ciri? If so how will the explain the magazine? Or should we just ignore it as a fun easter egg.
AI.
Another option… Ciri came to NC back in the 2020s, before the time of the Red and the drop in techbase due to rebuilding. She told the story of her life to some Aldacadoes (seriously, can you imagine her hanging out with anyone else?) who in turn used that as a basis for a game, or sold the story to some Media. Sure, I'm a big fan of multiversal shenanigans, but also love the idea of Art imatating reality (in the craziest inception version of that possible).
… now I want a cyberpunk/Witcher crossover. How awesome would that be? Not only do you have to worry about gangoons but drowners too. Witchers would work like mercs…This could work.
Still hoping she makes an actual appearance in Cyberpunk and her warping magic blows people's minds… Even against someone using the sandevistan? Sp? Don't know how to spell it.
Plz let it be Ciri who appears in Cyberpunk.
That will be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I always hoped that the way she would appear would be just passing you by in the crowd as you're walking through the city at certain points.
Ciri and all other references to Witcher games are just "wall-breaking Easter Eggs". Ciri talked about her visit to the future, but that was just another "wall-breaking Easter egg" that CDPR used to hint at the upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077. by the way in Night City everyone don't have flying cars 😉 lol there are numerous other game/movie/TV-series/pop culture references in Cyberpunk 2077 why doesn't anyone talk about them? heck Indiana Jones' body can be found in a fridge in the Night City landfill, but nobody thinks that "Indy" is really in the same "universe" with Cyberpunk 2077🤣
Great video!
But Cyberpunk isn't our world, it's an alternate timeline where things in the 80s and 90s differ greatly that leads to what it is.
I've only ever played through W3 once. But I'm really looking forward to the update. Going to start a new game and do some different choices.
Then I might tackle the dlcs…
And if you want Ciri in Cyberpunk, you can always create her 😄
@handsomeTez will you be doing any play throughs of Witcher3 after the next gen update?
I don't think Ciri is who Mike meant. People have been speculating it's either Spider Murphy or Lea(Liberty) Patel, especially as the latter physically resembles the glitched out female figure we see in the trailer, the obvious connection being the name and the quest she "appears" in(Dream On, a quest about "Phantom Liberty" or the illusion of free will)
I remember getting goosebumps when Ciri said this. Literally CANT WAIT for the W3 next gen update.
There's a simpler explanation. During her six months in Night City, Ciri talked to somebody about her life and they were inspired to make a videogame about it. With the level of technology in Cyberpunk, a game like Witcher could probably be made by a single 12 year old kid in a long weekend.
There's a good chance it was NC.
She explains it vaguely and ungracefully meaning she wasn't there for very long.
Considering this, the fact that she knows how they wage war means that she probably saw combat happening during her short stay, an unlikely possibility in most future cities outside of Cyberpunk or 40K.
More likely Cyberpunk because the metal in their heads and and flying cars are somewhat less frequent in 40K by comparison.
