  1. THIS IS NOT NEXT GEN!!!
Believe me, I’ve been playing on Xbox Series X for months and is the same graphics from backwards mode of Xbox One now with higher resolution. To be true Next Gen it must be a PC port, but CDPR DON’T CARE AND THEY LIED TO US!!!

  2. Ray-tracing mode also has much higher crowd density in some areas compared to performance mode, but the fact there's no ray-traced lighting or reflections like PC is disappointing. I think it's a combination of the hardware not being able to handle it + no FSR, AMD's ray-tracing is quite a bit weaker than Nvidia's.

  3. i finished this on series x on 1.31 ver and then started from beginning on geforce now 3080 tier, since im waiting on 4080 or 4090 for my pc build. the difference is abysmal, never would go back playing the console version. geforce now runs it great, looks great, 4k with quality dlss smooth 60fps on my shield pro which i bought just for this game. highly recommend. today i tried the next gen versions on both my xsx and the pa5 just to see the improvements, but they stilll dont hold a candle to the pc version.

  5. I'm very happy this will be my first experience of the game. I obviously gave it a miss during the original media frenzy. There was no rush, there has been plenty to play in the meantime. I'll obviously be going performance, like every game that has this option. I'm happy to see there's very little sacrifice in fidelity.

  6. For those ones who do not see the difference. You’ll find it mostly indoors with artificial lights and small items, like bottles, table lamps. I’ve noticed this a couple of times already, and those shadows in RTX mode made that difference. I never get back to the performance mode again. The thing is that in performance mode some interior items do not throw the shadows at all, while in RTX mode they have it in a natural way, so adding much depth.
In the prologue chapter I stopped the game around 50 times switching back and force modes. The first time I’ve seen it, when I picked up the Street kid story, and at the beginning some punk intercepted our car to have a talk. In RTX he has shadows on his face, while in performance it’s almost flat.

  7. RT mode makes things more volumetric adding depth. Though it's more of the low end of RT mode. I own this on ps5/ XsX and PC. RT on PC at max is unplayable on AMD, LOW playable but not worth it because only marginal difference. It can be blamed on the engine itself, they need to make a new engine that has automatic optimizations built in ( like the new unreal engine ) to allow for high end RT.

  8. I tried RT mode, I actually strained my eyes trying to keep up with the 30fps, and I've got one of those HD TVs that interpolates the framerate

performance mode is more than fine for me

  9. i think the screen space reflections look really really bad. everything especially at night has a reflection so if you look around they constantly go away. looks absolutely horrible imo

  10. Control used ray tracing much more effectively (I'm aware that control isn't an open world game, so the performance with RT would likely be more optimal with RT reflections and global illumination vs in Cyberpunk where memory management is more important)

  11. I don't play on console and I don't pretend to be the expert but I think in the console enhancements it just says RayTracing Shadows, which means when you activate RT you will only see difference in shadows, no reflections, no lighting, just shadows, that's all , because consoles don't have the technology to support all RayTracing modalities, that's what I think

  12. I'm finding the bear-constant frame judder in performance mode on Series X quite annoying. I'm sure it doesn't bother some people, but I keep noticing it. The game feels very frame-y. When you pan the camera there are these small but near constant hitches in the background. It just doesn't feel completely smooth when you move around the city on foot. After all this time, I have to say it's disappointing to see these residual optimisation snags still in the game.

  13. People expect way too much out of the video games these days. If it works and plays well and it has decent graphics just be happy. I guess I'm different because my 1st system was an Atari. I currently have a PS4 pro and I'm just fine with that. I guess it boils down to personal preference, but PC already has BETTER graphics. I kind see it as pointless to add to it considering that alone. No game will Ever be perfect though. People are always looking for more realism, but I really don't believe it gets any better than what I've seen on PC the last few years and what's to come. I have a feeling that the next step in gaming will be full interaction with a movie style with real people. There won't be graphics to deal with in the future 🤷‍♂️

  14. Shadow mapping and ssr shadows have become just that good, ofc sometimes you can notice in indoor areas minor improvements. Otherwise it’s not worth trading off half the frame rate for a 10% better picture

  15. I dont think it is useless at all, shadows are far more realistic and also adds shadows that simply do not exists in performance mode. I like to take lots of screenshots an RT mode is a must for this. I dont understand why RT mode is not activated by default on screenshot mode, It would be a really good addition. Also 30fps is very stable, almost perfect. I dont understand why suddenly people cant play at 30fps which has been the standard for decades.

  16. I can't spot the differences between Performance and RT mode. The differences must be really subtle. I haven't booted this up yet on my own Series X, so I'll have to try that out and see if the differences are more apparent then.

  17. If this would have RT on the light reflections on wet surfaces like on the PC RT mode then I would consider sacrificing the 60fps otherwise no.. RT on PC looks stunning. On console/your footage I dont even noticed a difference not even in the normal shadows.

  18. I can tell you the RT mode on Xbox series X is straight-up poppycock. The juddering in the stuttering make the game not playable and then it becomes very sluggish. And looking at the difference between the two on my 65 inch OLED performance mode actually graphically looks better with more detail than RT mode. Switching the RTmode you actually lose detail. They should have just left RT out since they didn't know how to implement it in a meaningful way. Makers of Guardians of The Galaxy an Control did RT Mode right. I know this can't be the same CDPR that came out with The Witcher games.
