  1. Bartmoss was brilliant. Bartmoss was an effing conspiracy theory-laden, anarchist loon that ruined the internet and VR in general..then died alone in rotting insanity with his body stuck in a refrigerator, able to connect to the net AFTER his biological death for increasingly brief, insanity-ridden periods after his meat had flatlined. Which is is pretty much when he came up with the idea of unleashing the RABIDS. Part of why Alt is trying to hivemind everyone beyond the Blackwall is the Rabids won't attack Alt directly..so anyone connected to her is also theoretically "safe" Of course, as you may notice while playing the game, she's been becoming progressively less human in any sense we would recognize. Now, not EVERY rampant AI beyond the wall is bartmoss inspired, but hes' definately the blight/predator of the Net now..much like Agent Smith after he went viral. As for rogue AIs inhabiting humans..it's possible, but most human minds/frames are too SMALL to handle an AI….it would be something akin to a normal person downloading thier brain into someone with severe mental retardation. NOT an appealing idea. BUT certain daemons can be used to "meat Puppet" people. in the 2077 game we see the suicide quickhack. in the 2020 pen and paper, the Lich daemon could literally take control of a runner and use thier bodies like marionettes. Mr. Blue Eyes in the game is theorized to be an advanced version of this…not an AI himself per se, but a tool used by one. It should also be mentioned that tone of bartmoss's "bright ideas" in versions of the Pen and Paper that came out after 2020 (and were less sucessful) were things like viruses that made ALL informational/historical databases corrupt, which along with a Biotechnica virus that destoryed most paper hardcopies, pretty much erase dmost of human history…and data preserved had an attached "verified true" index…so MAYBE Kennedy was killed by lizard people implanted by Arasaka into the government in revenge for WWII…maybe not. Subversive does not always equal GOOD, and Bartmoss REALLY lost sight of that. It fits in with the theme in 2077 of Johnny being a revolutionary AND a terrorist…he got a LOT of people killed over his crusade that was NOT ultimately inspired for the noblest of reasons so much as Arasaka TOOK something from him, and he was PISSED. I loved the bit in the computer game where the lowly technician running the brainscan of Johnny quietly tells him her husband was in the building he just blew up, and that SOME things are worse than death. Not to mention the material for Cyberpunk Red shows the fallout of the event, literal and metaphorical, harmed folks on the street far more than it ever helped them..or harmed Arasaka.

Side note:in the Cybergeneration RPG, it's mentioned that Silverhand had indeed re-appeared in the flesh (and subsequently been killed off, what with Johnny still acting like Johnny) MULTIPLE times…Alt can download him into a new body, but the way Soulkiller is designed is that it's just a copy…not a direct transfer. (remember, most AIs are too BIG to fit inside a human skull) so there's STILL digital Johnny as well.

  2. The conspiracy guy on the radio that Mike pondsmith plays as mentions that the black wall is like a wet paper bag and assumes netwatch has made deals with some AI's across the net. So it's not as safe and secure as we think.

  3. Have you found Rache ingame already? You get a piece of information with it, that the whole downfall of the net only gave the corpos more of a firmer grasp on the new net in the name of 'fighting terrorists'.

Also the black wall acts like a firewall which it's named after, meaning that the black wall is more like a traffic conductor than an actual wall. It decides what goes in or out, and in the case of the black wall it doesn't allow anything unknown in. That's why arasaka can exit or enter it freely, as their 'traffic' is recognized.

As for the voodoo boys, although they say "we need alt to go past the black wall" what they really mean is, they need Alt for safety from rogue AI's, while they reside in the old net beyond the black wall. Not for the actual ability to go past the black wall. Which is elaborated upon during their questline. This is because they have already sent people past it, but they all died.

  4. Rache's actions that caused the DataKrash lead Netwatch (with help) to firewall off large portions of the net. referred to the black wall. which acts like a membrane. keeping stuff from getting in with less restriction to going out past it. what makes it difficult it the fact the black wall is heavily monitored by netwatch who respond without remorse, which is why in the game the voodo boys take great precautions, not only so survive once they breach but not get attention. which you can see depending on game choices. It is not impossible to think that Arasaka had a deal in place with Netwatch. for controlled access though the wall, with compensation in information obtained etc. while rogue A!1 and Daemons would try tri infect and corrupt those kid runners that survived the possession would have been terminated ASAP with both Arasaka and Netwatch monitoring any breaches and fingers hovering over the kill switch.

  5. 5:30 I don't think the kids with Lucy could get hijacked, Well they could but in doing so I think Araska would just kill then uploading a short Circuit hack of the system they hooked up to detected it or a netrunner in the system looking of ther kids, they are prisoners after all so a netrunner guard for a bunch a net runners prodigys makes sense lol

  6. I mean this has already been confirmed. In game the voodoo boys send you into the black wall but even they admit they have no way to bring you back. ALT however seems to do so with ease, it's barely an inconvenience to her. An AI like hers must have access to and from at will
