  1. The only thing that I can bet that was true is the upper manager fuck up and Sony really piss after the refunds, and somehow the original Johnny because there is a concept art from Johnny in the artbook.

  2. It's fake because CDPR says it's fake? Given all they have already done, this post could easily be public relations and nothing more as to protect their company from further self inflicted damage. We know from their own words that CDPR cut content and we can find remnants of it in game. Keanu's prominent involvement came out of left field and CDPR was not shy about using him as a key marketing figure for a game: a game that they spoke of through dreams only to deliver a different reality. I think it important to keep in mind that whereas Johnny Silverhand is given a decent amount of character development — V, the supposed main character, gets exceptionally little. Their character is static, set to a default sarcastic facetiousness that never fades, and ends with a crassness that feels independent of any influence from Johnny. Player choice has no impact on this, leaving players utterly reliant on fixed developments and other characters treatment of and projection onto them. This does create a sense of realism, most people don't care about others outside the context of their own head ("help and kindness is what I think you need not what you actually need" [See River Ward]), but even so V has no internal thought of their own aside from major plot points demanding a per-determined input.

Johnny, and by association Keanu, were clearly given priority over the bulk of what the game has to offer. Even side missions that have some depth fade as a blip into otherwise unmemorable grind content. Grind content that takes all urgency out of V's plight. I'm actually on my second play through and there's parts of the game I like and really wish CDPR expanded on. But I won't shy away from significant issues to avoid a final personal score of 5/10 — 2077 is only halfway there no matter how good some content is. What we have is essentially an all-star paradigm of a dated genre. Content is either an obvious adaptation or a good [Easter] egging onto a facade, with an A-list celebrity slapped on with a good spitting for adhesion. It's a "good" start, but needs a bath not a polishing. If I scored the game only on what I liked I'd give a 6 or even 7 out of 10. However, these 8s, 9s, and 10s scores I feel overlook a lot and enable gaming companies to continue down the wrong path.

My question then is if the leak is fake just how untrue is it? We can debate how fake it is, how contrived it is, but is it wrong? Could it be simply a dramatic exaggeration of events that played out more of less as the writer imagined — based on a company's public actions?

In the end, if CDPR management isn't at fault and they weren't restricting creative freedom then what we got is simply the best that developers could do with their own imagination and work and the time they had. Either way, things don't look great for Cyberpunk and CDPRs future. As to who is actually at fault I can't say and won't blindly accuse.

  3. Okay this is sad. I was dubious about the post in question, but I hoped maybe it would be. If this is true and that CDPR doesn't plan to "fix" the game and deliver us something closer to what was promised then I'm going to be extremely disappointed, to the extent that I may not end up purchasing the DLC's when they come around. Nothing for us to do but wait and see what happens, after all CDPR have said in the last couple of years vs what they have delivered; I won't believe anything they say until I see the evidence for myself in game.

  4. CDPR telling us something is fake or truth lol – the idea of TRUST has been destroyed in my mind. They should've at least verified something they ARE going to do in place of what tehy deem to be false information from this "leaker". I'd trust a communist before I'd trust CDPR at this point.

  5. So i dont think that it is impossible within 3-5 Month to improve AI for NPC's and police and also put more interaction stuff into this world
Its a waste and i pity all gorgous devs who put such effort in this amazing detailed city if CDPR is now just fixing bugs and ad a few more missions
instead of giving more life and interaction into this game. Also they did such amazing detailed cars and bikes but couldnt make them drive more realistic. There is a handbrake function missing. Also the physics of the game is a mess with regards to damage response of some objects like glass and especially the water behavior is not really finished anyway.
And the most stupid decission was to shorten the mainstory from 40h down to 20h based on some players statistics of TW3.
If i like a game i dont play the main story to the end in first priority because i want to extend the game flow and dont want it to end too quickly.
They have created an amazing City, a lot of great designed bars and shops and markets, Arcade Machines and a unfinished train and nothing of that you can use or do something if you do some free roaming.
And the core of all the stories were really great but its obvious that they also got cut somehow. Whats now with Peralez and who killed the major?
Somehow i cant believe that a company with a team who is doing such great world design and creation, obviosley also has talented story writers does not use the fulll potential an open world is offering for a game to make it immersive.
I am pretty sure there was a leak of leadership, naive decissions done by bosses and no precise target setting within 2020 which lead to this.

  6. I don’t believe it. I’m not saying that the leak couldnt be fake but . But CDPR, especially leader ship, is in panic mode and recovery mode. The last thing they would want to confirm is what is quite obvious already. If they confirm these leaks to be true, That would be a Nother huge PR hit in a horribly bad way on top of them already trying to recover and fix the current shit issue that they have created.

The facts are this. CDPR has had a consistent pattern in regards to both the motto they follow and pride themselves on which is creating an open world single player immersive RPG‘s as well as building from their previous projects. You can see this consistently through the entire Witcher series as they constantly build on their previous project. Always following innovative immersive elements. You clearly see this pattern being followed in the progress reveal of the 2018 gameplay demo that was 48 minutes long of cyber punk. However after that demo and that summer leader ship gets reeves involved and all the sun they classify the game no longer as an RPG but action adventure game. What we have revealed to us in the 48 minute demo no longer is the game that we have as of right now. We had no reason to assume anything except that they were building on top of what they had already shown us in that 48 minute demo. However they did not do that, they did not tell us that they had completely scrapped , Cut, and re-purposed all of that previous work to transform the game into a Johnny silverhand super linear short story action adventure game. It no longer even meets the standard of their previous projects. It is not as of right now even a CDPR game based off of their own standards be at motto or pattern. It’s missing basic elements from their previous projects.
The game that was revealed to us in the 48 minute demo that follows CDP our standard and pattern was scrapped and transformed into a Johnny silverhand focused linear short story action adventure game where you are merely a vehicle to Johnny’s silverhand story and his outcomes. That is just clearly evident and factual from the progress to the 48 minute demo that was revealed and direction it was headed to what we got delivered to us as of right now that has none of the 48 minute demo there besides bare minimum skeleton bones at certain points. Whether the leaks are completely true or not, this fact still remains. The game was building off of its previous projects and headed in a CDPR directions up to the 48 minute demo of what was revealed. After that demo we got a completely different game that is not CDPr.
My first thought to cDPR reaction to this leak is to deny it because even though the leak only points out what we already can surmise just from the evidence that I mentioned above, to confirm this as well would be a major PR hit that they cannot afford in their current state of trying to fix everything. The implications could be horrendous as well. Better to deny and not confirm just about anything and everything you can while trying to fix the game in hopes that this all just eventually blows over and people move on then to confirm what in my opinion is obviously true or is quite evident letting players know that some dumbasses who were focused on dollar signs with Reeves completely broke pattern and win against their own motto and scrapped or cut everything to make a different game that wasn’t Even an RPG and had to rush in a year and a half to produce a different game focused on Johnny silverhand and not the protagonist as it was originally intended.

  7. The games we have consistently gotten from CDPR as well as the game that follows that pattern that we saw through progress and direction in the 48 minute demo in 2018, none of that is what we have now with this game. Bugs and glitches aside, this game does not match or follow or meet the CDPr standards of their motto or their previous projects that they have consistently Followed, until now. The base game of cyber punk that we have now is one of those it is what it is. They showed a completely different game in the 48 minute demo, but they changed it to this short story Johnny’s silverhand action adventure game that does not focus on you the protagonist but instead focuses on Johnny silverhand and your connection to him giving you the illusion of choice and consequence that have no meaningful or impactful affect on the world and simply progress you further in the short main story to a culmination of a handful of Johnny silverhand outcomes. They designed it that way and changed it into that after the 48 minute demo when they got Reeves on board. They can fix stability they can fix the visuals they can even add additional DLC stuff a very minimal cosmetic relevance but that will in no way shape or form turn this into a CDPR game that it Should have originally been and originally was intended to be. The design of the game now is what it is and that cannot be altered. Expansions could come in a more CD project read form hopefully but the base game is very much just what it is and we cannot unchanged that unfortunately. They fucked up when the leader ship got reeves involved and decided to break their own pattern with all their previous projects to make a non-RPG Johnny silverhand short story focused adventure game which is the only time you meet any characters for specific instances
And then they disappear from the world and you’re just left with an empty world. Again this is not a CD project read game by their own standards and previous pattern, and that is such a damn shame. They were on the right track we saw evidence of that in that 48 minute demo, they were on the right track and then without telling us they just scrapped all that in with a different direction. I hate it for the developers, and more importantly I hate it for cyber punk. It’s a decent game for a single play through and that’s about it

  8. Sheeps need to stop painting this game in a good light, its a dying light in my eyes, if we dont expect more and better it will not be prioritized, story looks good but too much cut content to make it good or fantastic. Have folks forgotten what we were promised, and we havent gotten a shred of it really, the features we do have is thinned out to the point of no re-play quality. Barber, visible cyberwear, more in dept romance, penthouses, Ai, bars, fastfood, interact with npc etc etc etc etc. Best regards

  9. hey perhaps this is for the best.
    keep our expectations low.
at least they are telling us the truth now.
the only thing we can expect now is bug/performance fixes honestly, that is the thing that they owe us the most.
for the missing and cut content, we can only voice our displeasure through review score/refunding the game, and not immediately jumping on cdpr bandwagon next time.

  10. CDPR: The game will be out when it's ready.

CDPR: It surprisingly runs well on PS4.

CDPR: Our game will be immersive and our game will have most believable npc.

    CDPR: shows 2018 demo gameplay

Me: Turns out those are all simply not true at all.
