A year ago Cyberpunk 2077 released missing the cutoff for Game Awards 2020. The launch was a disaster and lead to a year of trying to fix the game with several patches and hot fixes, however the game was just nominated for a GOTY category at the Game Awards.

  1. I love DBZ to death.. for 25 years now. I am very scared about a Dead By Daylight type DBZ game though. FighterZ is great but I wish a studio would make a competent RPG for the series. DBZ still has a ton of hardcore fans like me in their 30s and even 40s now.

  2. I don't have a problem with cyberpunk 2077 being nominated, but I think I'm in the minority. I mean if you play the main storyline and the important side quests, its not a bad game, just not what was promised. Its not like its a very good game either but honestly so is deathloop imo. And for the rpg award I don't think it stands a chance against the jp games.
p.s. I think the devs at cdpr deserve this, they got screwed by their execs as much as we the players did.

  3. I played Cyberpunk 2077 on PS5 and I actually enjoyed it a lot. It’s unfortunate that it had a bad launch but at heart it’s a good game. Hopefully one day all the bugs will get worked out and more people will get to experience it properly.

  4. They're expecting to increase its sales and get rid of all those collector's edition gathering dust in the stores' warehouses by nominating the game in some category (and winning by "making some adjustments" during the voting event).

Game media is lying to us on a daily fuckin basis sans spawn of course. They really think we're all that fucking stupid.

  6. I'm just gonna say It. They paid for it to get in that spot. Bravely default 2 is a better game technically. Honestly I'd go with smt because in hindsight it's the underdog and always has been in gaming (persona doesn't count as mainline).

  7. If there's a category for best level design I might actually go for it.. but even that would only by aesthetics rather than gameplay.
My guess they needed a token western title.

  8. Honestly, if you play on current gen and pc, it's definitely a contender.
The underlying technology and writing is insanely good, even if it was a disappointment in some areas.
It's just that so many people were playing it on weak hardware.

  9. It probably isn't the best rpg, as far as it's rpg mechanics go, but imo it should be in the Goty category and at the very least the narrative category – its an absolute masterpiece in that department regardless of what the haters say.

  10. I played through Cyberpunk 3 times, 3 different kind of characters, one of my character 90% didn't shoot any bullet. If Cyberpunk wouldn't overpomise (that much) and we get a so-so bugfree game on PC a little lower system Requerments, on the last gen consoles a constant 30 fps in 720-900p with no bugs, we would agree that the game is in the RPG cathegory, because it has a good story, good (not perfect) skill tree, good main missions and branching side missions from the main missons, of course there were bad filler missions but those for XP and money. Great music, even greater graphics, great voice acting. I think Cyberpunk 2077 got more than it deserved and I'm not a mindless CP2077 fan, it could have been better, but to be honest, the people has to not let games release in a half baked state. We should fight for polished games and I think it is a random thing that Cyberpunk became the example, that we can't let that happen the buggy, glitchy games anymore to release.
