From The Publisher: Cyberpunk 2077: Gangs of Night City is a big box strategy game with miniatures in which gangs fight for control of a city, with the city also being a living part of the game.

In the game, players assume the role of a gang leader, with you organizing your gang members to take power in the city. Your actions affect not only your game and your opponents but the city itself. Each gang has different attributes and goals, giving each player a different gaming experience.

  1. At this point, I pretty much check out on any big “IP”. I just think the indie games devs have to ACTUALLY make a good game. For every marvel United campaign, there is a Horizon Zero Fun (Dawn). I’m sick of it, prefer to support original IP’s.

  3. i like cdpr and cmon as companies and i love cyberpunk!!!! but, apart the super super high price (at least for me), it feels like they missed the whole point of cyberpunk… for me cyberpunk is all about taking the role of a netrunenr/edgerunner and going on a adventure, like in the video game or the rpg. And even if the idea to control the different gangs of night city sounds cool, i would rather preferred something that leans more into a euro-ish dungeon crawler or a worker-placement where you can manipulate the npc gangs by placing the workers in different districts… start fights between gangs that blocs other players to go to district or so… in short words.. in my opinion a workerplacment-area control mechanism would fitted much better the theme… for the ks campaign the intro video is recycled video game footage… the whole every goal is a mini thing don't makes me want to back it either.. it feels like they didnt wanted or could not put much effort into the game… the first idea from CMON to make a card game sounded super interesting, but a lot of ppl said that the actual game they present us is so similar to the godfather game …maybe i expected too much.. or at least something more innovative… dont know… i think i will wait for the retail version and first see some review of the definitive game before i decide if i will buy it or not! 🙁

  4. Talking about rulebooks, an idea for a video could be bad rulebook design. Your regular commenters could probably “recommend” some. I would nominate Wasteland Express Delivery Service. It’s a Mad Max-esque pick up and deliver game my friends and I enjoy. The rulebook is good on a first glance but once you start playing the game you run into lots of mechanics and situations that it doesn’t cover and it’s also really hard to easily find info in for quick rule checks.

  5. Re: the shipping, I did the Witcher Ronan graphic novel Kickstarter which was CD projekt Red also and the shipping was so high I almost didn’t back. Maybe it’s an issue with CDPR stuff across the board?

  6. Problem is that I looked at the base game and it isn't close to being worth 170 dollars, I look a couple of days later and it's still not there, how long into the campaign until it's worth that price? (if ever) when can I start getting excited for it? shouldn't that be happening on day one?

  7. Love cyberpunk, adore minis in general, have backed a fair few cmon campaigns without issue… but still on the fence with this one.
I truly do get why there's a high percentage of $1 backers, after the whole doubled shipping fiasco of marvel zombies.
Probably sit it out at $1 until the campaign end or pledge manager and decide then.
Should have been an easy sell though, didn't even think twice with the witcher just went all in
