Hello everyone, and welcome to my channel.
In today’s video, I am testing FidelityFX Super Resolution on Linux in Cyberpunk 2077 at 3440×1440 medium settings. FSR on Linux Only works in Vulkan games (dxvk and vkd3d-proton included). Using fshack works (not all games) when you select a lower resolution in-game. Obviously applying FSR to the final image is not ideal, it should be applied before the UI is drawn. In Cyberpunk the UI is very minimal, so I don’t see an issue with that, and after applying FSR the picture definitely looks better than 2646×1108, but not as sharp as native 3440×1440. The reason I picked 1108p is because that’s pretty much what AMD uses for Ultra Quality. Some shimmering is present with FSR, especially if you look at the car radio during the gameplay footage, but the performance uplift is worth it in my opinion.

  1. Since questions about this have popped up multiple times on the linux_gaming subreddit recently, could you benchmark some different kernels (such as vanilla, zen, xanmod, tkg-upds) in a couple of games?

  2. Wow a 30fps uplift in performance is awesome. Its easy to argue that gaming on Linux can actually be better than Windows now with hacks like this to get FSR working on unsupporting titles. I could barely tell the difference between the two

  3. That's awesome. Thank you. Would you please make a guide video about how to do all these. Many people, including myself, are strangers to many Linux terms. For example, I have learnt what "Lutris" means last month and now I'm trying to understand "where to enter" negative LOD bias paramters.
