Cyberpunk 2077 continues to struggle as CD Projekt Red admits in an investor’s call that the last gen versions of the game were left to the wayside. Furthermore, the refund plan they put into place has become even more messy and if that’s not bad enough, more negative reviews have poured in. Just an extremely disappointing launch for a game that is awesome under the myriad of problems.

Community Note: After asking my audience in a follow-up news video about the future of this review given that most people won't be accessing the experience I had due to the game being focused on a next-gen/PC, we decided as a community to leave the review up and emphasize once more this was on PC. All issues from console copies not being available, to holding CDPR accountable for their lacking of transparency, and a breakdown of the bugs/glitches along with my personal critique of aspects of the game is included. To emphasize once more, this game was reviewed on PC with zero patches until about 4 days into the single week I had with the game. Transparency is key here. If you are watching this as a PS4/XB1 gamer, please wait until further patches are out to fix this game. We will be returning to it then and breaking it down. I also changed the thumbnail. Comments fairly noted I was holding a PS4 copy and my reasoning behind this decision was purely because PC copies of the box art noted a digital code and no game disc in the box which I thought was perplexing. However, after tinkering in photoshop, I got something more representative and I think people being upset with that is fair. I appreciate the constructive criticism on that front and do keep it coming!

I have last gen and when the game works it's really fun. Like in indoor locations it's alright. I've just accepted that free roaming and exploring the city is pointless right now so just stick to quests. Still absolutely no excuse for the state of this game on console though. The other biggest problem I have is the police. Why when am I in a room with one entry point committing a crime do the police literally spawn behind me in the room? That's atrocious. Like c'mon….Rockstar gave the blue print almost two decades ago! How can it be this bad?
Also seems they took out the crowds and all you hear is tons of things goin on and there’s like 3 dudes on the screen…brutally garbage, they can go shove this game up there butt

I wouldn’t say they ignored last gen they said that they’re gonna work on updates for them and aim to be “finished” by end of February next year. As of rn I’m on base ps4 and I’m still enjoying it past the grainy look and the motion blur having to be on to not drop frames but as of 1.04 bugs aren’t too often and after 6 hours I’ve only have 1 crash. Just have faith and patience. The lack of patience is what ruined this drop due to people sending death threats for delays. They just kept making it better and better and 2013 consoles are bound to have trouble running this amazing next gen game of this scale.

You want to know what we would have preferred – you delaying the game even more until you got it to work on all consoles ( last gen included ), how about that? Why couldn't they wait even more so that they could get it right for everyone? A delayed game is eventually good, but a bad first impression is forever.
I haven’t had any game breaking issues, but my 2080 super doesn’t seem like enough to get a ultra 1440 super wide.
I pre-ordered my Xbox copy online with GAME. I was able to return it at my local store and will have a full refund paid into my account within 5 working days. I hadn't opened anything. Everything was still wrapped as it was when it arrived. Take your invoice with you and the card you used to purchase it online. Hope this helps people in UK.

I am exhausted with all the negativity about the game and CD project red. I love this game, I still have yet to hit a bug at 26 hrs in on series x. I am 52 years old been a gamer since pong, RPGs being my favorite as I am also an old school table top gamer. I have friends who play on xbox one and they still love the game and are waiting for them to patch to see the difference. No person or company is perfect but damn for people to say they have destroyed their rep is rediculous. They have earned our respect enough before this game that we should be more forgiving and patient before we push them into being the next EA. CD project has my support.
You should leave your review up because it was about your experience on your platform. Dont cave and be like all the other haters. This has gotten out of hand we need to show CDPR some love and support. Seriously.

aside from the crashes and the bugs cyber punk is the greatest game that has been put out in a very long time. That company released a shity crap game called The Witcher 3 and everybody praise that but this masterpiece they don't like it because of some bugs. i'm confused by the investor call, they both say they let the delays make them go against their business philosophy and release it. but later they said that they didn't experience any external or internal pressure just the "normal" pressure associated with any release.. which is true? (i mean..seems like obviously the first is more believable, but why later downplay it? it just makes their words seem unreliable.
i'm sorry to hear about the abuse you got from angry (presumably console) gamers. my frame rate is ok, since i'm on pc (and my settings aren't anything to write home about) but i also am very put off by the communications from the company this past year that don't seem consistent with reality (whether it's a complete failure to assess their technical situation or are lying) it's a very bad taste. but i can see how some people can be more (or less) annoyed with the game itself depending on what they're playing it on. i guess the internet isn't great for such distinctions unless the creator lists every possible way they might misinterpret what he says and explain it 🙂 🙁

The game is cool but not for ps4, especially in combat. I'm trying to get a refund but I'd buy it again if it gets fixed on ps4. I don't buy full priced games often, so I'm thinking should went with Ghost.
