Welcome to FudgeMuppet & get ready to jump into our best netrunner build for Cyberpunk 2077 – an awesome poison hacker playstyle!

For a quick summary of our thoughts, we found the game to be good in the sense that there’s a solid main story, a beautiful world-aesthetic/art design, and cool characters with some neat side quests. However, because we all played through picking different choices, we quickly realized that the game underdelivers when it comes to player choice & consequence, as well as the idea of ‘living’ in the game. Cyberpunk 2077 does not give the player that much agency, and you definitely can’t ‘be anyone’ or ‘do anything’ in the world. You are V, and you play V’s story. That said, it’s worth stating that we had a lot of fun playing this story and enjoying the different playstyles on offer.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action RPG developed and published by CD Projekt. Mike Pondsmith, the creator of Cyberpunk, was a consultant during game production, and actor Keanu Reeves has a starring role. The player assumes the first-person perspective of V, a mercenary who has three different life backgrounds for the player to choose from. The game takes place in Night City, an open world area set in the Cyberpunk universe. As the player completes quests and levels up, they can develop their abilities in hacking, technical skills, and various melee and ranged combat styles.

  1. If I may suggest a build, how about a Terminator Build? You guys often complain about not being able to have fun with the Tech stat. I've seen others use it to trip their characters out to nigh invulnerability. So what about Tech and Body to make V the Terminator?

  2. this is a GREAT tutorial but he overlooked the importance of LEGENDARY PING, which basically allows you to hack through cover. . . .also, contagion ruins a lot of stealth runs & ive had a lot of fixer yell at me for not being undetected(however thats my fault for not putting points into CRIT like this build)

  3. Netrunner is the best approach to not get too easily bored.
Like you can breach in and upload some daemons, specially the one to blind your enemies when they spot you, so you can do any stealthy robbery easy.
You can use contagion and others to kill everyone form afar.
You can blind and or cripple everyone so you have it really easy to level up your blades or brawling.
And the legendary Short Circuit passive makes any high crit build pretty much unstoppable regardless of your weapon of choice.
I don't take any damage perks anymore, i have those in for hacking but that's all, for other perks i look only for the ease of play type ones like the ones that are most found in the athletics group. Like going full mayhem mode, running and gunning with a smart auto rifle where everyone dies in one or two shots seems kind of dumb, specially that i'm playing at max difficulty, but i guess it has some appeal to it.
I look it up regarding cyberdecks and bought and tried just two. Netwatch Netdriver mk.5 and Tetratronic Rippler mk.4 and i like the latter more. Sure that the first has one more RAM and can spread normal hacks such as Overheat, but the range is pretty small and you are better using Contagion anyway for damage spread or Cripple Movement and Reboot Optics for spreading around and keeping enemies tamed and still for your guns and blades. So i like the Tetratronic Rippler more because of the upload speed bonus that makes the cripple hack so fun.

  4. I don't think Anamnasis works, i'm pretty sure other perks don't work either.
Does Neurotoxin actually increase Contagion damage? Have you tested it on and off and compared results?

these guys say that poison perks work only for poison from knives not Contagion too. https://www.reddit.com/r/cyberpunkgame/comments/kc4926/question_on_contagion_stacking/gg035g1/

Like i tested and can attest that grenade perks do not affect Projectile Launch System grenades, like the one making you invulnerable to grenade damage from your own grenades. Shooting the arim grenade in to the nearest wall always kills me while throwing a normal grenade at your feet doesn't damages you at all.

  5. i did side missions until i was able to afford the RAVEN MICROCYBER MK.4 which didn't take too long, I think it 35k. with 49 street cred there's the NETWATCH NETDRIVER MK.5 one that is similar but has 30% increased quickhack damage

  6. Great build, I really liked playing it. It's a nice change of pace from the usual shooting.

There is a couple of perks in the Stealth tree that I think can be beneficial to this build :
    – Hasten the inevitable: deal 20% more damage to enemies affected by poison.
Since Contagion is your main opening and apply Poison, it seems like a natural pick.
    – Assassin: deal 15% more damage to human enemies.
    Pretty self explanatory.
I also picked Rattlesnake which slow poisoned enemies.

And I would have talked about Legendary Quickhacks passives, as they really close the build nicely.
    – Contagion: all spreading QHs can jump to one additional target.
If you're playing with spreading QHs like Cripple Movement, Cyberware Malfunction, Reboot Optics or Weapon Glitch.
    – Synapse Burnout: defeating and enemy with QHs cause nearby enemies to panic.
    OK by itself but wait…
    – Suicide : causing and enemy to panic reduce the cost of your next Ultimate QH by 2.
    Here you go!
    – Ping: allows you to use QHs through walls (on pinged enemies).
For a stealth oriented playstyle, it's a godsend. Almost like a cheat.
    – System Reset: defeating an enemy reduce the RAM cost of you next QH by 1. Stacks up to 6 times.
I don't know if this one is worth it only for it's passive. It looks more non-lethal stealth oriented so it's up to you if it fits your playstyle or not.

  7. Man, this was my first build and I wouldn't recommend it for first playthrough.
The shooting is done quite well in this game and with this build you stop shooting at all at some point.
You actually do nothing but play the mini code game, then you press "f" to pay res… to kill everyone around you and then you loot and it becomes so fucking boring you dont open the game the next day.
PEOPLE! IF YOU WANNA FUN BUILD FOR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH – GO SOLO!
There will be shotguns, blood, gore and loota fun.
As netrunner you will end up playing mediocre mini game and one shot killing everyone (not even shot, just button press) 🙁 You won't even need to aim.
It might be somewhat fun for second playthrough, but definitely not for first one.
