  1. I enjoyed doing the police reports events and listening to the in game radio too much to constantly jump around from FTP-FTP. Though I did use them often if I had to travel more than 4km to a point that didn't have many nice views on the way through.

Over all, I agree the map does need to be flushed out a bit more. Though, I do still have to say that what they have now is, and can be, still enjoyable!

  2. I get the need for fast travel points for players. But myself, I never make use of fast travel in any RPG, unless it fits into the world. Like riding a train in Red Dead. Or the tram mod for Cyberpunk. I feel that many people tend to treat an RPG like any other game and don't really care to belong to the world around them. It's a similar situation to leveling and picking perks for a character. Some people like to min-max a character, to find the optimal OP build that would let them just breeze through a game. Others follow a more organic growth of their character choosing perks that would make sense for that character's role/personality. Rather than choosing a perk that would give them the best advantage.

When I play an RPG, I like to immerse myself into the character I am RPing and the world. So like in real life, I can't just walk up to a terminal or pull up a map, select a destination, and then suddenly find myself across town. Yeah, it may be tedious to hop into a car and drive from one side of town to the other. But it's kinda relaxing to do that, especially after a fast-paced, high-adrenaline shootout gig.

In this respect, I gotta admit I was really disappointed in the Delamain cab that you can acquire. I figured it would be like the Delamain cab we initially got to ride in. You would get in and pick a destination and then get taken there so we can sit back and enjoy the ride. Maybe even being able to have a chat with the Del AI in the car as they might have questions about the city. But nooo, it's just another car like all the others. I mean what's the point of introducing V to the onboard AI if it never really amounts to anything or does anything in the game.

I will also agree that it would have been a great addition for random encounters to exist for players who choose this. It would really help to make the city feel alive rather than having any encounter already highlighted on the map beforehand. Let there be fights between the different gangs of Night City and not just the NCPD, let there be a system for the AI to follow which gang we help out or if we wipe them out equally. Then let them react accordingly.

It's a similar thing for the Police System of Night City. I don't really care for any change beyond just making them more active in the world beyond the very occasional car chase that a player may encounter in the world. Let them be seen doing patrols, hassling random people with a shakedown, taking bribes in back alleys from high-level gang members, or just outright ignoring a plea for help over the radio. Likewise for the gangs. Let's groups of Maelstrom walking down the street, shoving and threatening people, or Valentinos pulling a hustle on some gullible fools.

In that respect, how about adding in mobile arms dealers. Something like trucks that belong to various gangs that sell illegal weapons/mods in the back alleys which move about to avoid cops or other gangs.

  3. For a while, I had forgotten there was a fast travel feature and was wondering what the blue points were. Getting around Night City is an adventure, and if anyone is skipping it and complaining about the game, that's their fault. Night City, while imperfect and somewhat unfinished, is packed with life.

  4. First playthrough I used the fast travel often, and I realized it afterwards. Second playthrough I took it super slowmo after The Heist. Took my time to enjoy the city, now almost 125 hrs in and I'm almost halfway through but I've found it fun to boot up the game and just randomly drive around the city and explore. Find a group of gang members and have fun with em. Interact with some NPCs and enjoy some of the great mods. Fast travel stations need to be removed and replaced with a taxi service you pay for and the metro system. The metro system adds such an interesting perspective I wish CDPR had fin tuned a bit more.
2:47 yah not an entire new 'city' but the teasers all mention "dogtown" and if it's in Pacifica that means it's essentially a separate district/town.

  5. I think this was talked about before, but it would be pretty awesome if you could call someone(like you would in gta)to hangout where they would follow you around, socialize with you in activities or assist you with gigs. It would bring more life to your friendship/relationship with others. But anyways, this next update looks incredible!

  6. I never "fast-traveled" anywhere in CP2077. And the game encouraged slow travel: Fast travel points needed to be discovered, walking in the early game until your ride is fixed, not much impeding your travels, and the radio was always playing "bangers".
There was never a need to rush and the trip was pleasant.

  7. I'm sorry, but wtf is that article talking about?? Elden Rings open world was filled with copy and paste bosses and enemies with unique enemies sprinkled in there. And the dungeons were repetitive and mindless 90% of the time.

Not to say I didn't enjoy the game, cause I did. But let's not pretend the game was something it wasn't smh lol

  8. I am happy that a producer of my beloved Witcher series is proving that despite this collosal issue with the release date, CDPR proved to have games at the core of its company and not just sales numbers. Now, owning 2 IPs and having experience in such difficult situations the company can only get better and deliver better games. I am not perfectly happy with TW3 next gen update still but this project was only moved to CDPR less than a year ago from a Ukrainian company and couldn't have been completed due to the current war. I am not excusing CDPR but this along with a hack and a blackmail of the company happening pretty much same time as this and the terrible Cyberpunk launch – well, we can say now that they did pretty fucking well handling all that drama… they encountered more issues in the last 3 years than most producers put together in the last 3 decades.

  9. When I played Skyrim, I found myself almost always using fast travel because it took so long to get to my destination point and the trip was usually very boring. But with Cyberpunk, I never use fast travel. It is much more interesting and fun driving to my destination and seeing everything going on. When I played The Witcher 3, it was usually 50/50 using fast travel. I enjoyed the ride through the countryside because it usually wasn't uneventful, but on extremely long trips I just fast travelled to save time. I guess it all comes down to the game itself, the size of the map, and things I can see and do on the journey (or not). I really enjoyed Assassin's Creed Odyssey travel even through the map was huge, I was able to set a destination point and have it auto travel, so I could set down the controller and just watch for a while or step away for a short break while the journey took place.

  10. Didn’t they start to do random encounters/missions with the Edgerunners content, when you went poking around the in game areas where the animation also ventured? David’s Jacket, Rebecca’s shotgun etc. The brain dance mission that is the trailer itself.

Agreed that more content like that or maybe hidden fixer jobs that you can only trigger in person as opposed to tracking via map. Similar to some of the NCPD/Cyberpsycho jobs.

  11. I can honestly say that I never used a fast travel point during my entire play through of cyberpunk. I just loved driving through night city and the bad lands and taking in all the visuals. It also helps immerse you even more into the game when you spend time driving from place to place.

  12. I have never fast travelled except for for quests that bugged a bit and i needed to do it a bunch of times. I like exploring the city and doing the small quests that pop up along the way. But after a good hours it is true that you start ingnoring things and focusing on specific quests, though thats probably because a lot of quests have been already completed

  13. I didn't fast travel at all my entire first playthrough, I loved driving around NC and found tons of things to see or acquire IMO. I want to add that I loved being in that world so much that I did all side missions and content, even though it was a bit repetitive, for me it was just more opportunitie to live in and feel that world.

  15. This game is still a dysfunctional turd and a tragic waste of my money(despite getting it for 50% off.) After all this time, it's still unplayable. I'll come back in a year's time and see if it will be worth re-downloading.

  16. Hope they remove Vs shadow are rework the animation but also, I hope they fixed these hands animations when you’re getting ready to punch I do not like them how they look. I hope they just fix these animations in general. I seen flashlights in the phantom liberty DLC trailer second one they were attached to the guns, so I believe we can use flashlight now finally we should be able to attach them

  17. I really want to do more in the city and see my character more other than riding a motorcycle I always felt like in character customization games you should always have the option to see your character or at least see them interact with people or objects

  18. I fast traveled once due to a bug, for driving around and experiencing the city was immersive. Although the city was not as fun as GTAV's city, and they have somewhat fixed that recently. It is one of the most stunning city ever seen in a video game. Still you can't shoot from vehicles and that was cool in GTAV to go down to some neighbourhood with police and start a massive shoot out with gangs and police. or just driving in the mountains and meeting a crazy woman with a backpack who you could start dating. The engine is just not as advanced as Rockstars engine, and I am glad they moved to Unreal Engine 5. I can't wait for them to start pushing out new games, for most of their bottlenecks were engine based or lack of skill. Even AC Odyssey had bounty hunters who would come at random times even while doing quests making awesome scenarios.

  19. Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba; thats where the budget went. I'm not expecting that much from the expansion at this point, I'll be a right jackass to be hyped for something with barely any gameplay, showcase or a release date.

  20. Elden Ring is a great game but it perfectly demonstrates the criticism of repetition – virtually everything is combat. Exploration was quite fun but the lore/narrative/plotlines are too spread apart and lack cohesion. in fact, it's almost lazy. Cyberpunk 2077 is smaller in terms of landscape area but the plotlines are woven tighter and the story direction is far more impactful. My best friend and played ER for over 100 hours but then we got tired of it.

We played Cyberpunk 2077 (him for around 70 hours, me for 110 hours) and we were enthralled throughout – we played until the final mission but held off. We don't want the story to end so we're waiting for the expansion first 🙂
