  1. I really don't want mobile cyberpunk anything because that means micro-transactions and lazy design. Mobile stuff for franchises rarely turn out good and not just a cash grab. Live action cyberpunk COULD be good if they handle it well. Also, I have no ideas for it but I hope they'll make it good. No focus on V because new stories would be better. Co-op for cyberpunk 2 would be epic, I'd love that. No gta online type stuff for this franchise because that would just suck ass, co-op is all we need, maybe like 2-3 player co-op like saints row or borderlands.

  2. I really hope the live action thing doesn't happen, live action always turns into some agenda for us whether it's promote feminism or straight up hate. Hope they just stick with anime with the same animators.

  3. I also don't like games being based off a tv show. It's like the Walking Dead tv show that was forced to do what the comic book version did in it's storyline. It's not a good thing.

  4. my guess is Rafal Jaki’s question is somewhat rhetorical, as the anime briefly mentions how the ncpd appears out of thin air, which is obviously a reference to the flawed police system from the game.

  5. They need to do more with Jackie Wells as the lead character for the Live Action. He had less screen time and all 3 lifepaths had us bonding with him but it would be great if they included all of those openings to show how diverse his background work really is. Smuggling an iguana through the border; hijacking a rayfield and getting busted and meeting a corpo and nearly get pinched by Arasaka security. That's a lot of shit for a streetkid guy like Jackie so he's well known.

  6. As much as I wish Jackie was still alive I don’t actually have a problem with the prelude at all. It just showcases the overall theme of Cyberpunk. Live by Night City die by Night City. That’s why I think The Star ending gives V hope of living despite not being able to find a cure in Night City. Night City is bad news for anyone who stays there and there very well could be a cure for V outside of Night City.

  7. Omg, the game is doing so great right now! Nearly bug free, nice smooth experience, and tiny bits of content (that the game should have shipped with). Here's a big question that I'm starting to have, what happens when when all those new players find out what the problem really was? What happens when they find I that the bugs and choppy frame wasn't really the problem? The ONE AND ONLY planned expansion, updated 1.7, and beyond (maybe) had better be good and rich or all those new players are gonna find out that all they have to look forward to in the end are photo mode, Easter eggs, and Nocturne OP55N1.

  8. They didn't mess up with the way they communicated. I actually liked the way they did it as opposed to COMPLETE silence until the game's about to drop. The problem was they didn't deliver on their promises. Had they done so, it would have been another masterpiece. Oh and Justin Timberlake as the main char in the show! 😛 He was in the movie i think it was called like "time" ? Where it was Cyberpunk like…..

  9. i would like to be able to form a crew out of the npcs you meet in the game, like after the Panam saga, you can bring Panam, or Judy with you to certain missions and run through with a crew of people.

  10. V Live Action Actor: Jeremy Renner (Avengers' Hawkeye) – that's if they're going male, of course. For female, hmm…not sure they should be doing female, tbh, so can't say… He should also probably be a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, but with a focus on solo, given the game's mechanics, assuming they wanna do a representative take of the game that's in line with the original promo-material. They could of course just throw it up in the air and give us something completely unexpected, lol. Tricked out pre-op m-to-f trans V with an obsession for cyberware sending her to the edge of cyberpsychosis and have Regina investigate hér instead of some other cyberpsycho… That could be fun (as well as a deluge of pc-pitfalls…)

  12. a live action series of cyberpunk sounds really stupid to me. just think of all the CGI they would need to pull it off. might as well make a full animation at that point…. wait, didnt they already and its a smash hit?

  13. the live action doesn't have to be about V it can be about silverhand and star Keanu and flesh out his character more and maybe reveal a more personal reason why he hates arasaka and expand the lore of Night city

  14. TBH, I'll be happy if they keep Edgerunners as an Anime only.
    Why?
Have you seen the live action versions on Netflix of FullMetal Alchemist? Death Note? Cowboy Bebop? Bleach?

In contrast, the Witcher series was pretty decent and enjoyable for the most part. It was not without it's own flaws, but it was easy to overlook those for the good that was there.

However, a Cyberpunk live action would be FAR more CGI and Special Effects (SFX) dependent than the Witcher was.
There is no city that looks like Night City. The vast majority of cars don't look like they do in Cyberpunk 2077 and would require expensive body work, or even being built from scratch, to simulate the look. Guns would probably be the easiest props, because Hollywood has been doing that for ages. Much of the Cyberware, especially as CD Project Red designed it, is VERY intricate. Think Mantis Blades. Think the in arm Grenade launchers. Kiwi's cybernetic jaw. Heck, even people's cybernetic limbs are pretty intricate, and often slimer or wildly different shapes than their flesh and blood counterparts. Their Cyber eyes light up and have moving parts in them. The anime did a great job of staying faithful to that. I have doubts that a live action would do so as well.
Consider all the videos that have popped up about locations in the Anime that are also in the game. One person who uploaded a video even went so far as to say it was much easier to count the number of locations in the anime that WEREN'T in the game. The chances of you getting that level of dedication to recreating the world in a live action movie are sadly slim-to-none. Unless the live action Cyberpunk Edgerunners was a real labor of love by fans of the game (and based on the track record of past "live action" game and anime adaptations, that is a rare thing indeed), it would be far more likely to look disappointing, cheap, from a different world, and/or just not live up to the example that Studio Trigger left.

To be honest, when it comes to telling stories in the over-the-top worlds like that of Cyberpunk, an Anime or purely CG show (similar to the recent Ghost in the Shell SAC 2045) just makes more sense, from a visual standpoint, a budgetary standpoint, and even a story telling standpoint. You can do so much more with those mediums than you can with a live action adaptation. The chances of a Live action being detrimental to the Cyberpunk 2077 IP are just too high, imho. Any production company, live, CG, anime or otherwise has some pretty big shoes to fill to meet the expectations and level of quality set by Studio Trigger.
