Was having problems using OBS to record Cyberpunk 2077 on PC Steam with the recordings lagging or stuttering in the video. This is how you fix it using the window capture method.

Also to get rid of the yellow border that is around the game windowed screen, in OBS select the window capture scene with the game and click/drag on the edges to make it slightly bigger than the OBS window so that the yellow edges of the game are out of the capture. Then use the arrow keys to even it out on all sides.
Thank you, you gave some new points to look into to get rid of the stuttering. I'll try this for my next stream. – Edit: Thx. This video was the first that helped me. All the other stuff you can find on the internet, did not help at all.
You sir, are a god. I actually bought a new capture device cuz I thought it was malfunctioning. Turns out it was this bug. Don't regret the purchase but man does this bug suck. Thank you!
You're a god damn hero sir, The last 10 days of my stream have been plagued with intermittent lag like this. the only fix I had before was restarting my game. Thank you
Going to be giving this a try today. Hadn't had any issues recording Cyberpunk on my PC, but since the latest patches 1.1 and 1.11 dropped for the game, my OBS recordings are stuttering, even though the game is not. I've not changed any OBS Settings from when I started recording the game, so can only assume something that CD ProjektRed has done in those patches is making the game run somewhat differently and messing up OBS recording. I don't really want to lower the game quality anymore as already am running on Medium Preset, so will try this Window Capture method. I had previously been using display capture for my recordings, today I tried game capture and that made the stuttering worse.
I have the same, but it doesn't depend on OBS. When nothing is on, everything is turned off, including GSync, overlays and related stuff – it stutters. And it stutters way worse than yours.
Thankyou so much for uploading this. The juddering has been the bane of my CP2077 videos. I had already done 10 hours before I noticed it, and from that point on, I had been trying to solve it. I tried all sorts of settings in game, used DDU, installed fresh drivers, changed video and streaming settings in OBS, and even overclocked my computer, trying to solve this issue. CP2077 is the only game I have had this problem with. The only reasons I kept the recordings, is because it was a stream, and they have my first reactions. I assured my viewers (not that I have many) that once I have the problem solved, I will do it all again.

This really helped. I was afraid I would have to stop recording until they post more updates. The stuttering just wouldn't go away. Thanks so much 😁

Seems like this did the trick! I haven’t seen too many people covering this at all. So Thank you!!!
Now I gotta figure out the audio… mine seems a bit glitchy

Years on and this is STILL an issue for OBS. At least the window capture method works.
