The 750ti experience
out of topic i wanted to ask if you know how to fix textures in Far cry 6 on 4gb vram cards? is there a mod for this bug?
I remember seeing a lot of people on the street when it was just released.
I think CDPR went too ambitious with this game for the last gen consoles. They built it for pc first then thought they could get it to work by downgrading, making cuts but I think the amount of textures in the city, the details that need to be loaded at any one time were just too much. Downgrading resolution was not enough. So with each patch they try to cut things down to make it run better but there's still too much to be loaded for the consoles to cope with. It is probably a CPU problem because I've heard it said before that the Jaguar CPUs used in PS4 and Xbox one were weak. You have so many buildings, sign posts, traffic etc to load, puddles and reflections were left in that could have been left out. They may have had better results if they got another team to port it down. To get it to run at a locked 30fps I think background buildings or a lot of details would likely need to be removed from the game and that would ruin the look of the game probably but it would make it playable. It's a difficult situation and I don't think CDPR planned it out properly. Apparently the PS4 version has more stable framerates now but still stutters a lot and has noticeable pop in, like having to wait around for textures to load and other bugs. It's been a year, it's not as bad now as it was last year but it's still not good. I have a PS4 and this would be my kind of game if it ran stable but I think I'll wait until I get a PS5 and also until the next gen version proper is out.
