These are the Cyberpunk 1.06 patch notes. It turns out the 1.06 hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077 was actually a very small update even though the download was massive. The major takeaway from this new Cyberpunk 2077 patch is that PC players will no longer have to worry about corrupting save files from using the duplication exploit.

We also take a look at the question of: do exploits still work after 1.06 patch for Cyberpunk? It’s looking like the answer is a resounding yes. Out of all the exploits that we tested after the 1.06 patch for Cyberpunk released, all still work. That’s right they should all work.

The 1.06 hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077 also addressed another mission issue with Dum Dum. It seems that dummy has a lot of issues.

Finally the Cyberpunk patch 1.06 also improved console stability with less crashes, which is likely where the 18gb download size came from. Now you know the 1.06 patch notes for Cyberpunk 2077. The Cyberpunk 1.06 patch is very small and didn’t do very much, even though the download size was absolutely massive.

  1. The PC (non galaxy version) was only a 500ish MB update file. Don't know why the discrepancy between console and PC unless it was related to the memory management stuff they said they did to prevent crashes. Maybe they replaced a lot of textures with better optimized ones and that's what fixed the memory issues. /shrug.

  2. The Steam update on PC is 1.7 GB, and takes a bit to install going up from 1.04 (even on an SSD, it's been cranking along for over 40 mins, considering the size of the patch isn't that big).

Thank you for checking all of the popular exploits. Considering this is an offline only game, I think it would be crummy and spiteful of them to patch the exploits. A player doesn't have to use them, but if they choose to, they can. I feel like them patching what, to me, looks like intended cheats like on an old school game, is akin to dictating to the player, "you will play the game how WE want you to play the game, not how YOU want to play it." If these weren't intended cheats, maybe they were cooked in exploits for debugging (why, when you can use a debug console?), I don't know. Just seems like someone meant for these little "glitches/exploits" to be there, like a back door or easter egg.

  3. Keep in mind that they didn't literally change 18 GB of data. The assets are often bundled together, so if a single file contained 500 MB of assets and they updated just one, you'll get a 500 MB download.

  4. When trying to corrupt a save file, you're trying to make your file larger. You'd do this by having large numbers of distinct items (non-stacked). Unless they're doing something really dumb, there'd be no reason to serialize individual instances of stacked items, they'd simply store a quantity. Long story short: make a bunch of non-stacked items if you want to bloat the size of your save file.

  5. I tried the crafting exploit with max doc 1 on Xbox (89 in stock) it lets you hold y to disassemble however 1 doesn’t get removed from my stock nor did I get xp for it. Not sure if it’s user error on my end or if it doesn’t work now… anyone else in Xbox able to?!
