Simple story. The scope of the game was much larger than expected. Things like wall running were in and then out. That takes time. Then you push the game back, but the investors have already been waiting around for their return from sales. This greed is the same reason they put the game on everything. As the investors kept complaining, the dev team had to work under increasing crunch. All while knowing the game would not be finished for launch. The game released way before it was finished, and the investors were happy with the sales. The game was broken, so Xbox & Sony took action to remove it from their stores. As a result the investors money went down. Some of the investors brought legal action against CDPR. CDPR put out this statement for the investors, as a first step to avoid the second wave of lawsuits from them. The statement go against what many members of the dev team have been saying for months, about crunch and the team knowing the game wasn't ready for launch. These issues will also make it harder for CDPR to attract many of the Cyberpunk investors, in the future. The statement from CDPR might have worked 10 years ago when people got their information from TV, and what was said was not looking into. In an internet world, people are not going to buy something like that press statement. I'm enjoying the game on PC. There is a good game there. It just needs to be finished, and the devs need to look at maybe reducing somethings for early last gen consoles. If I wanted to run GTA 5 on PS2, something would have to give.
