At a glance it seems that V is set up to die after 2077. This may not be the case though. The corporation Biotechnica may be able to save him from his six month countdown…

I hope you all enjoyed the video! Let me know your thoughts down below on both the theory and video. Have a great week chooms!
Great Video! I think that cdpr should be more afraid of your essays than data miners 😅
Something that didn't stick to me was why wouldn't V let the body be completely Johnny's, and then have the soulkiller run on the body for V to get in it for ir to keep on working again
Man while i would love for this to actually become reality in the dlc or a sequel i don't think it will happen…especially since i don't see them continuing V's story….at least not as the main character and i doubt we will be playing in the next corporate war, at most we'd be able to create a character that was a veteran of the next war since i heard somewhere or from someone that the next game will take more inspiration from the table top when it comes to character creation, but who knows.
The only issue with this theory I can think of is that Alt tells to V "DNA reconfiguation has progressed too far" when asked if V can return to their body.
This miiiight make it so that a cloned body would retain the reconfiguration done by the Relic, since it has fiddled with the DNA of the body itself.
On the other hand though, it should not be impossible at all to find DNA from V from before the insertion of the Relic. Like blood splatter, hair, or whatever in their appartment, or even a replaced limb somewhere RIpperdocs dispose of them to. So with that in mind it should be possible to create a clone of the unmodified V!
Awesome video
While Biotechnica is one of the least explored corporations in Cyberpunk, what little we are given in the game as well as Edge Runners, incorporated with what you've uncovered im the source material makes absolutely perfect scenario for V to have the situation remedied with the technology they possess. If you take the info given that Biotechnica and Militech have a working relationship a Super Soldier type technology combining Clones with AI ( IE Bobby Fett) and Militech under NUSA being at odds makes for the perfect insertion of Phantom Liberty.
Whats gonna be nuts is having to kill the original V as the replacement V. I could see some really good story telling about the nature of reality and further exploration of the presence of a Soul and the implications of its absence.
It is interesting how Biotechnica flats is a rather huge, mostly unexplored area in the game. Lots of potential there for future content.
Is Biotechnica the corporation that makes the food? Where you find that unnamed meat thats most likely people???
Didn’t Johnny’s team find clones in Arasaka tower before it went sky high.
Biotechnica is mentioned during the Corpo intro but only in passing. The ESA board members were using Biotechnica implants at the time they were cyberattacked during a meeting. It was a move by Arasaka to throw the ESA into confusion to buy them time to try to save the licensing of their base on the Moon.
This is a criminal oversight considering how prevalent Biotechnica was in the TTRPG.
Good on you for figuring this out when all of the other fans and creators have missed it.
V doesn’t have to die instead if you do the devil ending and and choose to return to earth then v is never soul killed
So basically the plot of BSG: Caprica 🙂
1:38 "…world changing discovery"
You missed another world changing discovery by Biotechnica that you can make another video about –
Panam and the other Aldecaldos didn't know the true reason Saul was working with Biotechnica.
On the Shard entitled "Archived Conversation: Saul Bright and Emilia Weiss", it is revealed that Biotechnica wants the Aldecaldos to help recover some parts for a new facility being built in the Badlands. Saul says the Aldecaldos can help, but not only will it cost a lot of Eddies, he also wants some prototype plants.
Specifically, "Reverse Transpiration Xerophytes". What are those, you ask. Basically, plants that produce water from thin air. Imagine the value for Nomads…
The "guarding crops" project for Biotechnica was just a cover. Saul was working on a scheme that would have made the Aldecaldos rich and granted a new level of independence.
Great video choom i was only able to watch bits and pieces during lunch but biotechnia i can see working their grubby hands on V but once again like any corpo theyre gonna want something in return…
Wild thought though, even if this is possible and works, would this not just result in V finding his/her own replacement for after they die? Would there be continuity with regards to their stream of consciousness?
Either way, great vid!
Give this and corporate wars in the dlc
Hey man don't know if I commented about this on your videos before but love the lore you've been doing for Cyberpunk.
Can't wait for more theories. No one else does it like you. Hope your channel geta big, you deserve it!
The only ending that makes you survive is the Arasaka one. The others you die and the engram lives as you.
Well done. I went a good distance down this same path – I didn't have the BioTechica piece. The secret ending would be Canon and the Blue Eyes (a Morgan Blackhand Construct) would provide the tech for the clone body somehow. I really like this it fills a lot of gaps for me. How "they" (who ever "they" are) get the engram from Alt – it does exist and consequently can be used.
Technically arasaka can put V into a robot body. It wouldn’t be much different from Adam or Lizzie wizzie. Plus cyber psychosis wouldn’t be an issue. Plus arasaka has touched into cloning as well.
My choom my only fear is that we will run out of lore I hope not I don't really understand how big the Cyberpunk2077 universe really is tho either
Also I love the music in the back ground really gives your video content a Eerie feel and mystery Great work.
As long as the tissue sample for growing v’s clone was obtained before the body was taken over too much by Johnny this would work.
Because there wouldn’t be much point to replicating a body that was already inhospitable to V.
So maybe it could be something a ripperdoc had on hand? Like maybe Vic would have some of v’s old flesh preserved to get a good dna sample from?
Excellent video, great theory 👍👍👍
I mean, it's a neat theory and it would work for the survival of a new artificial construct exactly like V. But as soon as V is soulkilled, V is dead. Sorry, I can't see it any other way – you're gone the moment they do that to you. 2077 is a game where your character dies at the end no matter what, as inevitable as Jacky. People might not know it and be fooled (including the new V), but it is what's true isn't it? In my mind, I wouldn't go for such a thing at all. I don't see it as any distinct as creating a designer baby and I don't think you should mess with someone before they even exist yet, I think that's just wrong. Especially not in order to be just like you! People are supposed to be transient, mortal. Without that desperation, we'd become meek, unextreme… not what humans are. It'd be very good for corporations though, I can absolutely see it happening.
On the one hand, if I were V, I'd never slot in the relic, I'd just call it a loss on that big job and get out of there. On the other hand, I'd probably just get torn up by gunfire on the same job – no way I'd be lucky enough to get through that roof bit unscathed. On the other other hand, I'd probably never take the job from Dex in the first place. But on the nother other other hand, I'd probably never make it through the rough streets to get to the point to even talk with him to begin with. So… yeah, no. That wouldn't be me, I'd just be regular-killed. To an extent if you're playing a character in order to get to the point of being that character at that point in time, you kinda have to embody that character's personality, so… I can see it. I think V does reckon she/he is still alive. They're wrong, but they do believe it and they would take the actions they take.
Ah, all those unfilled areas… that people with better consoles are going to get DLC for and for me, are just going to stay unfilled areas… I really wish they'd consider a version without whatever new game gimmick makes it impossible to put on old consoles. Just have the story there even if we don't get full vehicle combat, or parkour, or whatever it is they're doing that goes over the capabilities. Hate missing out on entire chunks of story. Guess I'll just have to watch it in a video instead, bah. Won't be my V though. But! Maybe with all the soulkilling, it inevitably wasn't regardless, heh. 🙂
Misinformation! The Devil Ending is the only ending where V can live by rejecting the offer 😅
This may be the only way to save V by cloning his body, freezing his body and safely putting his consciousness into his cloned DNA body. However, I know it would come with a catch from a megacorp…megacorps never do anything out of the "goodness" of their hearts.
i remember saying this when i heard then talking about their new discovery at the end of the game. It's random but in the background and v glances at it for a moment and i was like, yeah that's an easy fix
Just discover your channel and i absolutely love these theory, because love this cyberpunk universe
Keep up the good work 👍
I have all the sourcebooks, thanks to a humble bundle sale, so when you said what page, I went and looked it up and was like OOOOOH~! XD Makes me wonder if this is going to be in Phantom Liberty….
I like this theory, but i disagree with one thing. Throughout the game it's pretty heavily implied that the soul is not only real but that johnny actually has his. Thats why he has his own very distinct meditation experiences during those missions with the buddist like characters. Another point that could support this hypotheses is the fact that we get to experience what its like to be an engram after the physical V dies. Basically the player represents V's soul imo. Otherwise we should've died with physical V the same way we normally do. And just because engram alt says they're just code doesn't mean alt is correct. That could just be a byproduct of her being unwilling to accept what she's become or a misconception she's developed because her brain has become overtly logical and is unable/unwilling to accept the idea of a soul could exist. For example why is it that V and Johnny seem to retain their former identities but for some reason only Alt acts as if she's a new being. This to me might mean she kind of went mad do to her isolation in the grid and her limitless access to the sum of human knowledge
Wait but Alt said V returning to his body was killing him specifically because the body’s cell’s were attacking itself because they were now coded for Johnny. That would mean that a cloned body would retain the same cellular changes which reject V. Unless someone somewhere has some of V’s DNA pre-relic, which would be one hell of a coincidence.
Yeah, Biotechnica does such a good job of saving people, just look at the Red Ochre clan🙄
Mfer found a loophole
There are 2 methods that I can think of how v could be saved.
1: Full Borg, like Adam Smasher but more. In the end of the game Alt says V’s body has already accepted Johnny as the dominant personality and will be constantly fight against V, so why not replace the body party’s that rebel and become a walking terminator
2: cloning, in the far future they have synthetic meat created in factories, so why not go one step further. Recreate V’s body so the rampancy isn’t there.
I find it so interesting that in the end where Saburo overwrites Yorinobu, Arasaka doesn't hide this fact. I thought they would want to hide something so horrific like killing your child by replacing their personality with yours, it just shows the state of the world.
