  1. Aside from the bugs/issues. What ruined starfield for me was all the complaints and negative reviews. Major buzz kill. I was obsessed with starfield in the beginning till I started seeing all the talk online. I still like the game, but I don't find myself being drawn into it like I was before.

  2. Bethesda NEVER WAS a game company that shat out non-mediocre games. Sure, my 12 y.o. self loved tes 5, enjoyed, tes 4, put lots of hours into fo 3, but looking at those games now, I only ever enioyed those games because of mods. And now they ACTUALLY MADE A GAME TO SOAK IN MODS! Really? Thousands of empty planets? but they dont plan on not making money out of its mods, really 70-30 cut?, they even purposely made it hard as sht to mod starfield just to fuk over those who post their work(mod) for free on nexus.

  3. I played cyberpunk after bg3 right before PL dropped. Have a good chunk of the achievements now; so I’d say both games were on the same level for me. The way cyberpunk presents its narrative is just remarkable, like cyberpunk in 2023 has some of the most
Immersive cutscene like gameplay I’ve ever experienced. The thing about BG3 is that it does so much, so well and it’s success is so huge for single player games that all these other titles might not be equals but will hopefully keep the demand for single player titles high.

  4. I don't get why everyone expected anything other than a bethesda style game when it came to starfield. Sure the explorable area is gonna be bigger, but it is gonna have the same formula no matter how many "layers" they add to the game overall. NPC's with very little personality and generic back stories, just set it space. Some pretty visuals, but they will never deliver anything epic again cause they lost all of their passion(along with like 99.9% of their talent through layoffs and people quitting). Bethesda will most likely never regain the support of fans. They just don't seem to care.

  5. I don't think BG3 ruined other games in the genre, at least not for me. I don't expect every RPG to be on the same scale or have the same mechanics. I enjoy Cyberpunk for what it is in it's own right, a 'light-RPG' mixed with fast paced shooting action. I can like both for different reasons without feeling like one is just plain 'better' than the other overall. Sometimes I don't want to play a game like BG3 that relies heavily on RNG dice rolls and forces me to quickload my game if the gods of randomness aren't favouring me (and yes, I save-scum the hell outta' that game :P). One thing Cyberpunk DOES have going for it over BG3 is actual player SKILL deciding how situations play out rather than a computer generated dice roll. And I enjoy both games, so I'm not trying to trash on BG3 by saying that either. it's just different expectations and different playstyles. As for Starfield…

Starfield wasn't ruined by BG3, Starfield was ruined by it being a dated, buggy, unimpressive mess of a game that feels 10+ years already old on the day it came out. Bethesda didn't need to make another game on BG3's scale to make me happy, but something that felt a LITTLE more modern than "Oblivion in space" would have been a huge improvement. Say what you will about Fallout 4's story, even that game had a more cinematic feel with their conversations being over the shoulder and back and forth between speakers rather than the horribly dated static pose of you staring at the other person the entire time. WHY in their right minds they backpedaled on that form of character interaction is beyond me, but that's just one of many complaints the game deservingly garnered.

  6. No bg3 had nothing to do with it, Starfield was trash I seen it from miles away ( FO4 was a major flop too imo). Never even thought about buying it unlike bg3 which I pre ordered due to Divinity series was awesome.

  7. I REFUNDED Cyberpunk because it was NO RPG and it is still no RPG! I PRE-ordered (since I trusted this Studio, Witcher 1-3 Fan where 2 is the shortest for some Reason). CDPR angreed that Cyberpunk IS NO RPG (but I ordered an RPG and not some Action-Blafoogrinder). In Cyberpunk: ALL DECISSIONS are meaningless! Realy ALL! No Consequences for your Endgame! Even what you pick at the Start: It does not matter!

  8. BG3 didn't ruin any of those games. You have to remember that BG3 was in early access for a couple years. Most game companies developers don't do that. And let's be real. CP2077 and Spider-Man 2 are really good games. Starfield kind of blows though. BG3 deserved GoTY, but has it set a new standard in gaming? Probably not. Consumers are stupid and will keep spending money on dogshit.

  9. When are going to stop simply blaming "Bethesda" as a whole and start calling out Todd Howard?

Plenty of Bethesda devs have come out and said they'll pitch an idea and ol' Todd shoots it down. He's set in his ways and its ruining Bethesda reputation. Hes been making the same damn game since Fallout 3.

  10. Starfield is bethesda's true face revealed. They are creatively bankrupt and have been for many years now. Think about it. Think about all the studios and external intellectual properties they've been buying up. All their interesting ideas apart from Skyrim, which kind of looks like dumb luck at this point, have come from other studios for a very long time.

  11. I preordered bg3 and bought starfield day 1. I’ve played bg3 through 5 times and have 7 characters. Absolutely loved that game. Played over 300 hours. I’ll play it again. I’ve put 15 minutes in starfield. I don’t know if I can go back. I’m playing elder scrolls online again this month. And for it being 10 years old, yes I know it has expansions and updates, it felt more organic than the opening of starfield.

  12. Quick reminder to everyone: the devs who are inspired by BG3 are probably working hard on their next project. It’s only the people who feel threatened and had their feelings hurt who go to social media and vent. The best ones don’t waste their time and effort on pointless words, they let their games speak.

  13. 15:57 The difference here is that Swen does not have to answer to shareholders – he is in control. This means if he thinks it is important to put stuff into the game that only 0.5 % of players will see then they put it in the game. However – this costs times and ressources.

Bethesda (and all the other AAA devs) are in a completely different position. They are publicy traded which means they have shareholders. They are not really in control of the finances; if the profits don't please the shareholders whole projects get cancelled purely based on that. And as strange as that may sound – this means that they have actually less ressources to spend than studios like Larian. It's a matter of spending ressources and money – something shareholders hate. The shareholders are wrong of course from a gamer's (or developers) perspective, but they only care about money and nothing else.

  14. Stfu with that weak ass title! Baldur’s Gate didn’t ruin these games, they were ruined by the decisions of developers and executives behind them. Stop talking like one game is responsible for the bad decisions of a whole industry! Fucking weak sauce!🤣🤣🤣

  15. PERSONALLY
    starfield simply offers nothing
i played fallout new vegas again this year, its pretty much the same game… but its actually good and fun to run around in
the bugs are… there… but still the game is AT LEAST pretty good
    gameplay is fun
perks and other stuff JUST WORK

when starfield come sout buggy, glitchy like all their trash does
    the story is ass
    sidequests are ass
perks n skills are ass or straight up basic features that should be unlocked for all classes like stealth meter and all its upgrade
    empty ass worlds

the comment was made by many, that starfield COULD end up being good in 4 – 6 dlcs if the dlcs act like expansions and legit add stuff to the basegame content
and they rework how perks work and are
    aka
rework the base game through dlcs and add more content to fill out the problems

then MAYBE the game can be good
but it will legit take this much stuff
and even if you do ALL OF THIS

you still gotta deal with the boring ass main story which would need a new route basically which needs to allow us to break off and do something more interesting

    again
we basically need to revamp the entire game

  16. If they wanted to release it with intent to improve it over time why not just release it in Early Access? We're comparing to BG3, well BG3 did that and it seemed to work out very well.

  17. For me bg3 is totally new game in full. Zelda and cyberpunk is just expansion. Spiderman2 just same gameplay like previous. Diablo4 is cashgrab shit which they can release full but they decided part by part to milk. Only one can fight is starfield but we all can see many people complain more than like compare to bg3 for their empty promised only fallout game in space.

  18. Starfield was a disappointment all on it's own, I played Cyberstink, that was rubbish too. I'm on my millionth modded Fallout 4 playthrough, my GTX 1080 still makes me proud. It wasn't performance that put me off Starfield, it was boredom 10+ hours in.

  19. Sorry Todd Howard "it just works" is losing it's luster. I don't think BG3 did anything wrong they came out with something better and sounds like the others are boohooing over it. Star Citizen being what it is looks better and has more content than Starfield which I never played and never will, it looks meh not something I'd spend $70 on or on sale right now $48. Todd and other AAA devs acting like a 5 star michelin restaurant but giving us a cold McDonald's cheeseburger.
