  1. I built a pc with one recently because it is the only gpu that would ever fit in the computer case I made with me welder. I7 4790t 3.9ghz 16gb ddr3, 1tb m. 2ssd 1 Tb 2.5" hdd, 1tb msata ssd, r9 nano. The whole computer is smaller than a cheez it box. I got my r9 nano on ebay for $140 and the cpu for $70.

  2. I was one of the unlucky ones to buy one on launch, after an RMA and replacement, got a refund.

Can't stand coil whine, and if you fix it yourself the manufacturer will invalidate your warranty. Absolutely ridiculous.

  3. I was fortunate, managed to snag mine for $95 plus shipping on Thanksgiving 2019 for my budget build. May be able to make a profit when selling as soon as sell it very soon as I am looking to upgrade to RDNA2.

  4. Got the card back in 2017, for around $200.
Now still rockin it in warzone, med textures, low on some settings. But still above 75-85 fps. Much more fps in MW multippayer. But i am
    Planning to get cyberpunk👹
Looks like it could work just fine.

  5. Thank you for this video!
I have this gpu for 3 years now and I still think it's a decent card for casual gaming. 6 months ago I bought a 4K monitor and it actually runs games just fine, tho usually you have to sacrifice either fps or graphics, but in most cases not both of them.
Very informative and just a great after-review, keep up the great work! 🙂

  6. this card works well with freesync precisely at those 50 fps titles on medium. I have this card on a spare pc and it does well on all esports and good enough on triple A titles with Freesync enabled.

  7. i have an r9 fury i purchased in 2015, and it is still performing very well in 2021. i wanted to upgrade to an rx 6800xt but then the mining boom happened. the fury has aged well, at the time it cost as much as a gtx 980 but it has aged much better than the gtx 980. in similar fashion the 980ti aged better than the fury x. my r9 fury does not have much coil wine at all, its the sapphire tri x version

  8. This is exactly what I was looking for, great video!

I currently have a 5700 xt paired with a 4790k @ 4.8ghz on all cores but I kept my old Nano as a backup. With these crazy prices that people are paying for the 5700 xt I've been thinking about downgrading back to the Nano and selling the 5700, then use the difference I paid to upgrade to a 10900k/5800x. The only 'new' game I play is Cyberpunk and well… I think it might just be worth it to downgrade and be patient. Thanks for making this! Again, great video!

Edit: Also as a developer I could probably use a better CPU over a better GPU, so that's part of my consideration as well- not just gaming. And, I was one of the lucky ones who has a Nano with no notable coil whine.

  9. Owning one of those cards since 2016 and still impressed. Here are some important settings you should keep in mind tho. 1. lower the Tessellation Mode way down (older AMD cards had a big problem with high settings). 2. cap the FPS to 60 with Afterburner to keep some headroom and lower the heat 3. Undervolt the card and lower the core clock slightly to 980 Mhz! Result will be a constant core clock without running into the power limit !
Also great about the Furys is the fact that they dont loose as much as other cards from this era going up to 1440P.
