  1. So, this video kind of dying right now, which hurts because it was six months of work for me and I worked really hard on it. Comments, likes, and shares really do help the algorithm! <3 It would mean a lot if you could help the algorithm push this to more people. Thank you to all who have watched and commented so far — reading how it has made you feel has left a real smile on my face <3

  2. Outside of this being a phenomenally well made and informative video – it is, very well done Tim – it's also given me so many new books to read! I'm very keen to get into the literature, thank you🙏🏾🤓

  3. Something that really confused me was him constantly referring to V with she/her pronouns bc his playthrough must’ve been with feminine V, but every playthrough I watched was with masculine V, so I very much Did Not Get It for like five minutes.

  4. Played it through once. With the Arasaka Ending + choosing to be uploaded.
I know a lot of things aren't great with CP2077, but that ending ain't one of them.
What I found fascinating is that they never betray. Not even lie to you.
Their deception if you want to call it that, is completely made out of promises.
For every new promise, every sliver of hope, you just have to sell a tiny piece of you.
Until at the very end, for one last promise, you just have to give yourself up. Only temporary of course. And technically you become property but that is just standard lingo, don't think about it too much.
It might just work. You might wake up one day. Isn't that dream worth it?

    Such a powerful ending.

  5. Tears IN RAIN
    not tears in the rain

You misquoted it SO many times, despite including the clip!!

By the time you were getting to your wind up, I started to feel a bit bad about being snappy
the first part of this is really… a note, more than a complaint.
    I still love your stuff

  6. Just when I'm thinking about giving up on my playthrough of cyberpunk, this video comes along. So sad that it's not getting as much love as it deserves, considering that it's definitely on the level of Fallout 3 is Better than you think, and I'd recommend it to people who were fans of that video or Many A True Nerd in general.

  7. I mean, as much as I agree that cyberpunk is a pretty great game underneath the… issues, and all the themes and messages and everything are super interesting and all that

That wasn't ever what anyone disliked about Cyberpunk. Ever since launch, anyone who actually played the game would tell you that it's a brilliant game underneath all the bugs and glitches and false promises.

But the reason everyone hated it was all the bugs and glitches and false promises. It stung even more because it was CDPR that did it, and they had built up a reputation for exactly not doing those things.

So it's not that we were wrong about cyberpunk, it's just that the good was buried in too much bad for anyone to care about it

  8. I don't agree in your analysis that most of the side quest are devoid of meaning, the gigs definitely are just about getting money but a lot of the side quests are character based, not yourself but other people. Giving meaning to V's life by showing you all the good and the bad she's done, all the meaningful people in her life that all have their own struggles. If you look at the whole Evelyn, Judy, Clouds arc I think you'll understand what I mean.

  9. For me, the most poignant ending is the Panam and Aldecaldos ending.

You go to Night City in any of the three backgrounds with the hopes of making a name for yourself, looking for greatness. Night City is unforgiving. Despite its vastness it can feel suffocating. Panam and the Aldecaldos reject this idea. The freedom on the road is only part of what the ending offers, but the real ending, what you were truly looking for throughout the story, across your time with Jackie, Judy, Panam was a family.

In a world where technology drives a wedge between people the real heart of the thematic narrative for me rests on the human connections you make to the characters around you. That you learn that being someone in Night City is not as important as being a part of a family.

When you leave at the end of the story, you may not be able to change the world or tear down the corporations, but you can personally choose to reject the world those corporations create and find peace in your final days with those you love.
