As someone that played Cyberpunk at launch on a base PS4 to 100%, to list the problems I faced would take a while. BUT, despite every crash, every game-breaking glitch, every technical problem, I kept going because the game offered something that resonates with me in video games: fun character freedom. I could make a character that specialized in handguns and be a futuristic gunslinger or a modern-day ninja with katanas and throwing knives or even the equivalent of a god-like being as a Netrunner, hacking everything and everyone without so much as stepping into a building. Underneath the issues that plagued the game, there was a gold mine of content and fun. I play on the PS5 now, which has greatly enhanced my time with the game and severely reduced the issues that were present back at launch. I understand people having concerns and even reservations about this game, but like No Man's Sky, there's more reason to come back and play than ever before, especially after the release of the Edgerunners anime and I'm looking forward to what they do next with it. Great review, now I gotta boot the game back up again!
Picked it up when it was like 50% off a few months before the show came out thinking I would have a good time laughing at how buggy it was
instead what I found was a brilliant story with one of the best realised worlds ever dripping with atmosphere
honestly spend to long just driving around night city drunk just enjoying the vibe lol
As someone who played cyberpunk 2077 on pc release with a 1070 on ultra settings. The game had 2 or 3 bugs, but it ran at 60 and the game itself was fun.
I got the game for Xbox series X recently and it ran extremely well, minus a few audio bugs. (Radio was especially tricky for some reason.) Besides that though, playing through was an awesome and emotional experience that definitely warrants at LEAST one play through. Very insightful video.
Well, I am in agreement with you as this has to be my favorite game of all time. I have over 1500 hours in it and have played from launch. I've only played it on PC and the glitches in the beginning were more comical than anything and did not effect game play unlike so many people claim. Visually this game has always been a very beautiful game and more story enrich than any other game I have ever played. I have never played any other game as much as I have this one. I have even found myself buying other games playing them for a bit and coming back to this one. I must be addicted to it or something. 😄
I have played all life paths as both male and female, played all ending even the secret one, my favorite is the ending as you are trying to get to the Crystal Palace. I have replayed the game so many times I've lost count. My only complaint was the one time I completed every quest, NPC, gig, cyberpshyco, etc, there wasn't anything to do. I was trying to hold off to the release of 1.6 to hopefully get New Game + but it didn't happen so I had to start a new game.
Hopefully with 1.7 and or the expansion release we will get a lot of new stuff to do and new game +.
thanks for the vid and your view of an awesome game.
Ight next time you stream I'm watching. I appreciate this review you put out, feels good knowing I'm not the only one who felt this way about the game.
Just finished the game two days ago, honestly a good game with tons to do but gets repetitive sometimes. After finishing the game I jumped straight to Dying Light 2, and I kinda missed the whole vibe of Night City. The vibe of the game really gets me and the characters felt alive like they really belongs in the city. Now the bugs are certainly there, wonky car physics and characters glitching out, etc but it's to be expected. I will miss Night City and can't wait to get back to the game for the DLCs, good night and good luck.
I like this game. Don't Fear the Reaper is the bestest ending route and I'm willing to fight anyone for it.
I very much agree with this review although with a little more drawbacks, I played it when it came out, tho on PC without too many issues, but just following the news at the time made it glaringly obvious that Cyberpunk wasn't finished. It has also come to light that the company in charge of gametesting and bug finding screwed up fucking biiiiig time. It was and still is kinda sad cuz it has so much more potential. The setting is amazing same with the voice acting, every single character just feels real. If Cyberpunk had landed better it could honestly have been The Witcher 3 all over again. Really hope phantom liberty delivers.
great video btw.
Best part of the game for me is the insane soundtrack, so many bangers
I wish I could but this fucking mess keeps crashing after character creation. Been trying to fix it for over a week, I beat the game already at launch and had no bugs can even load old save files, but not start a new game. No clue how they made it more buggy after 2 years.
As for the game hack when I played it at launch. I loved it, even though when I was finished I was disappointed how short it was. I thought the ending of the game would be 1/3rd of it like Velen in witcher 3. The other problem is that the game has one major design flaw and that is that it's an open world game which tries to rush you to the ending and seemingly 'punishes' you from going off path.
I rushed trough the main story because every time I did a side quest Johny appeared and V's symptoms got worse being the first playtrough that seemed to me like an indication I am doing something wrong and should stick to he main story until V is cured and then do sidequests. So I did that and then the game ended. I do love the main story of the game, it would have been better as a linear game rather than open world. Alternatively they should have made a story which works for an open world title.
I waited just before Edgerunners came out and I agree top 3 fav games of all time so much in fact i changed my channel around it <3 Cool review 🙂
Started playing it after the anime came out. The game is nova, chooms!
A cute anime angel girl breaking down why one of the most violent heart wrenching tragedies of the modern era is a masterpiece? Subscribed.
Great video, Inko! ^^
I'll admit that I balked at Cyberpunk after hearing of the problems that were happening at launch, but this gives me reason to reassess it.
Preordered it on xbox. Played it day 1 on my one X. 90% of my glitches and bugs were visual. There were some problems with quests but i rarely if ever saw them. So many of the percieved bugs and glitches early on were features that hadn't actually been implemented. They have fixed so nany bugs and improved handling while driving and police encounters, but things could still be better. For what it is though, it is 1 if the most beautiful games i have ever played with a level of freedom most games only wish they had. If i had any complaints now is that it doesn't let you join a faction. You can't join a gang or a corp. You can do jobs for the cops as a freelancer but not in any official capacity. It never really feels like you are making a name for yourself. Your street cred does little more than limit what gear you can buy. I want dialogue that acknowledges that people know my name.
