Im one of the few that have a million gamer score yet they ignored us few this shit sucked
I’m sorry did you just call blm a fake punk group?
I think ONE of the main themes is change. A lot of characters talk about how you can’t control change but only what you change into. Johnny talks about how people don’t change. Then depending on what you choose, Johnny actually does change and gets a second chance. But the endings all close with a different theme.
It’s about being true to yourself and not losing your spirit to the city.
Solid take. I've said it before but I'm amazed the writing didn't sell out and have some bland, social media approved theming. Lot of shilling for the system while claiming to oppose it these days.
Chooms, gonks, Edgerunners…
Been good to know ya
all punk genres are dystopias where the government or corpos or grand councils or whatever have a ton of authority over people, and the hero defies them.
The game is more about the meaning of being human in a changing world with existentially terrifying tech to me with this as a secondary theme
yes. punk also leans into anarchy. not anarchy meaning senseless violence, but true independence and freedom from the control of any ruling body. This includes gangs and corporations. As soon as you make a flag and start conforming to rules you are no longer an anarchist. You can't even talk about being an "anarchist" as it will then come to resemble a system of belief.
I think the world itself does a pretty good job of demonstrating "Capitalism Bad" without the characters having to go around saying it
