What Happens If You Play Cyberpunk 2077 On HDD? Night City 4K ULTRA On RTX 3070 ZOTAC Twin Edge OC

So in the official system requirements of Cyberpunk 2077 (PC), CD Projekt mentioned that It need SSD to run except on 1080p LOW settings. So I ran it on 4K ULTRA settings at 60FPS with DLSS on my Seagate BarraCuda Hard Drive to see what happens.

For an average player, I doubt there is anything noticeable. However this doesn’t mean there aren’t any downsides with an HDD instead of an SSD. Watch the video above and see if you can notice anything strange possibly due to slow HDD speeds. When you’re done, see the timestamps below of things I noticed:

Low Quality Car Models:
2:40
2:48
2:56
3:07

Cars Appearing Out Of Nowhere:
1:25 (closely look on the left side, appears for a second)
2:55

Cars/Peds Gone:
4:25 (Due to high speed driving)

The most annoying thing for me was bad quality car models. They only switch to high quality models when you get close to them and wait a few seconds. YES, it’s actually noticeable. Although there is a possibility that HDD Speeds have nothing to do with that. Could be simply a game glitch. Let me know what your thoughts are on this.

  2. I play this on my HDD and I do sometimes get a little stutter while getting off my motorcycle and also car, but not anything that worries me. Also off-topic how do you get the cpu and gpu stats or whatever its called on the top left?
