What Happened to Shaitan | Cyberpunk 2077 Theory

Shaitan is a full borg conversion Solo. He appears for a short introduction during the 2023 Arasaka raid. He is however quickly taken out of commission. This wasn’t actually what happened though, due to the fact that Johnny Silverhand is an unreliable narrator. This video covers the real series of events and where Shaitan is by 2077.

  1. Shaitan always gave me Snake Eyes vibes in a character driven into a singular focus way.

…also if an unscrupulous set of PCs actually accepted an Arasaka gig, he was a great way to remind them never to do so again.

  2. Wonder if Johnny deliberately "remembers" Shaitan being completely useless, he couldnt hit anything and immediately went down and Johnny did all the work.

Edit : lol talked too soon.

  3. I'm hoping that by the time Orion releases, we get to see the more varied chasises of 'Borgs: Gemini, Dragoon, Wingman, Brimstone, etc.
Samantha Stevens uses a Brimstone chasis, which is geared towards firemen and other rescue/Emergency services, which is how she managed to rescue Silverhand from a burning hotel back in the 2020 setting and recovered the cryochamber after the NC Holocaust
Our boy Shaitan on the other hand, uses a Militech Eclipse chasis, which is designed for covert ops and assassinations, going far as being equiped with optical cammo by default, pain editors, a built-in monoblade and a cyberclaw with enough poison to kill a mammoth
The designs for both of those 'Borg models came from Chromebook 2 and they take heavy influence from Appleseed and Bubblegum Crisis' art style, and it bothers me a LOT that neither Shaitan in 2077 or Samatha in RED resemble their original designs

  4. Dang man….. Listening to this is like when I found out that Anakin was Darth Vader from the movies 🤯🤯🤯. My friends were like you didn’t know that!?!? The story line for cyberpunk has already been there for years and I’m just finding out that all of silver hands memories were fabricated 🤦🏿‍♂️. I feel some type of way lol but this is good story telling and this is what it does just like a good anime you will feel some type of way after if it’s done right 💯

  5. it would make a lot of sense for shaitan to be in the dlc taking a contact or job for militech along side black hand. i say this because nusa is working with militech to take night city and i think it would be in arasakas best interest to defend night city from nusa and militech and shaitan is all about fucking arasaka over so i think it’s a very possible to see him help us in the dlc or maybe in the coming 5th corp war.

  6. I think that if he got implanted into a meat suit that could have any biometrics, he could be anywhere. I don't recall any particular deep dive into it, but the tech did exist to place even AIs into clones (granted, they were faulty as heck generally) but little I recall from the obvious step of chroming down using that method. Whether to help restore a mind, or blend into the crowd, it seems like a good idea for a hunted full borg conversion.

  7. Okay, long comment time. I'm not really knowledgeable on Cyberpunk Lore beyond what I have learned from LayedBackGamers here and a few other channels that are reliable. But from what I know of Rogue from the game, she may have done some dirty stuff to live but I doubt she turned to Arasaka for survival. #1 While she thought him an asshole, her positive feelings for Johnny were too strong. #2 She seems a little too hard headed for that, if anything she would have turned to Militech. (I also find that unlikely but at least possible) As for Smasher's goon talking all that crap about Rogue having sold out, it is always a good strategy to try to drive a wedge between your opponents. Make V, who is obviously (in the goon's eyes) against Arasaka believe Rogue sold out to them and worked for them. In his plan, this causes V to turn on Rogue and possibly either abandon her or kill her. Either of which Smasher would be pleased with and maybe get him healed up or at least not kill him. I think Rouge's "selling out" to Arasaka was all a man's attempt to please Smasher when he knows Smasher would be enraged that people had been on the Ebunieke. (sp) But this is just the humble, uneducated, opinion of someone who likes Rogue. Yes I believe Shaitan and Morgan are off plotting together. But of course to keep Shaitan's attention it has to be something screwing over Arasaka and maybe Smasher.

  8. 11:55 but if she somehow got into Arasaka goodbooks and did so so well that she was trusted she would have been in a perfect position to help vanish a few of her old allies, sadly how a corp like AS normally works she would need to put down at least one of the people she was running with blood pays for blood.

  9. Something in my gut still tells me that the whole Grayson scene is giving us false info. Everything Grayson tells us has a hole somewhere, the game devs also seem to push the narrative that all of the old crew apart from Rogue are dead and gone, but I don't buy it. They are for sure throwing us off like they did with Johnny's memories. And honestly I love that style of narration, we aren't the all knowing player and we only know what is possible from our perspective, while the actual truth is hidden somewhere between the lines.
Can't wait to find out more in Phantom Liberty. Great video choom, you're really in your stride now.

  10. I hope the next cyberpunk game let's us continue V's story as a way to cure them leading us to find black hand or a new character that comes across Johnny in v's body trying to get v back to the land of the living.

  11. The game painted this guy as a total disgrace of a mercenary firing the machine gun like a scared kitty and getting blasted by a single bullet before never getting seen or mentioned ever again. What a horrible thing, but there's the explanation that we see it happen that way only because Johnny personally didn't care for the guy OR his memory about the event was tampered with.
