*I have seen trailers of this game (2014 Announcement, E3 2018, E3 2019, gameplay trailers) but no knowledge of the world, story, characters and the majority of the game itself. Semi-blind in that context but for all intents and purposes a Blind Playthrough of Cyberpunk is finally here!

  1. Yeeeeaaah! Very happy you got to this game!
For an environment lover such as yourself, this will be a treat (you already might have guessed that)
Small tip about your outfit, you have your "Wardrobe outfits" which is basically a "skin", compiling every clothing items you find in the game, and then the items you equip in your inventory which take into account the perks of said items.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do (6 runs, around 500+ hrs on it)
    Have fun!

  2. To be clear, Edgerunners is (usually) not in reference to the anime. Edgerunner as a term in the series predates the anime.

Also yeah, the anime is really good. Highly recommend. English dub suits it a bit better than the Japanese, and its a very very high quality dub.

  3. Don’t worry even without the parts from the time jump the game still does an amazing job of getting you to like Jackie. Though it still is kinda disappointing we don’t get to experience everything.

  4. The life path choices have unique dialogue throughout the game, and a unique start. Up until the montage with Jackie each lifepath is wholly unique, after that, the story basically goes the same way for each of them (outside of extra dialogue options and each path having a singular unique extra side-quest)

  5. Hey Mapo, really stoked you finally started this playthrough. Not sure if this was answered yet but for the Tomes in this game, just hover over the journal in your menu. Welcome to Night City, Choom! 🤘🏻

EDIT: Chronologically the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners took place before the game's events, it may be best if you watched it simultaneously with the early game, however it wouldn't really hinder your experience to watch it later. 🙂

  6. I recently started my Cyberpunk journey and I absolutely love it. Already have 100 hours in it and haven't even gotten halfway through the story, and I still have the Phantom Liberty expansion to get to as well.

  7. tbf, bugs aside and some weird quasi-RPG systems (like armor-bra type of non-sensical stuff), story and characters were always there and were amazing, not like they've changed them in 2.0, a bit on the linear side and background was more of flavor, but still (PL is even better in this regard). It always looked great btw, the game is gorgeous looking.

  8. Holy cow, I just finished watching my first of your playthroughs, which was Disco Elysium, and I really loved it. I can't stop watching people play Cyberpunk Blind at the moment and here you are! Amazing, can't wait to see you experience my favourite game!

  9. The soundtrack, story, characters, dialogue, gameplay, lore and the art direction make this a game a certified masterpiece, pair it up with the anime and you have one of best fictional worlds ever created !!!

  10. Cyberpunk is one of my least favorite genres and I played this game at launch on the Xone and had to drop it. Picked it back up on the X and honestly think now that it's one of the best games ever made.

  11. I think you should actually watch anime before playing the game or during… there are no spoilers for the game but in game there are plenty stuff related to anime and you will not get it.

  12. Clothes are almost purely cosmetic, and once you pick something up it's permanently unlocked in your wardrobe, so you're free to sell all the clothes you pick up if you want. Excited to see you play this one!

  13. Montage is universal for all backgrounds, street kid stuff ended when you went into montage.
I agree that it would be cool to do at least some of it. Always thought that at least couple "gigs" with montage in between, like 2 months between each.
But also understand, since it isn't really the story about 6 months of Jackie and V doing random gigs.

  14. Been waiting for this one for a while!

Btw the Edgerunners anime is seriously good. Hype aside even if someone didn't care about the world and setting of Cyberpunk they'd still enjoy it because it's just a really well written anime and it's only 1 season with 10 episodes. It truly adds to the experience of playing the game as well. It's filled with so many easter eggs and fan fare. It also takes place about 1 year or so before the game's story so it's pretty spoiler free.
Best way to enjoy it I'd say is to watch it after playing for like 5-10 hours of the game or at least enough to get out of the prologue so you get the references in the anime and playing the game after watching it just hits different. I highly recommend that you check it out on your own time.

  15. Holy shit, is CDPR time, certainly he'll dive into Witcher next, LETS GOOOOO!!!

Non-spoiler tip: the game has a setting to disable copyrighted music, I hope you are aware of it.

You CAN'T change spec points, but your initial 7 points don't matter much in terms of how you distribute them. They just help you with your beginnings, you will earn enough to "fix your mistakes", to say so.

So the game menu can be a little tricky. If you quickly click on some of its entries, you'll go to a main category. However, if you patiently hoover over a button, it will reveal other related categories as well. So in the Journal, for example, you can find a Database (think of it as a sort of Mass Effect Codex, but for Cyberpunk), and a couple more. Same for some other main entries in the Journal.

Regarding webcam frame placement, the safest place is on the right side, just under the mission tracker. Left side will be too busy with the hacking interface.

The game plays very well on a controller if you don't have a problem with 1st-person shooters on a controller. Driving especially feels much better.

There are no flashlights in this game, which will annoy you at times, but scanning is useful to reveal stuff in the environment, not just for hacking devices.

MANY quests and sidequests will provide narrative context in the form of e-mails readable on computers, so if you like such details then make sure to access ALL the computers in the quest area (at about 1:48:20 you accessed the wrong one on the right, but the right one was on the left). Also, these details are part of the lore as well, so a character encountered in a quest is likely to be referenced in another.

Watching Edgerunners will NOT spoil the game, and that's all I will say on the matter 🙂

On that balcony where you dropped Sandra Dorset to Trauma Team there are actually guardrails in the form of the proverbial invisible wall. You can indefinitely walk against it because it won't let you fall and fail the mission.

    On leveling up:

    1. Attribute points are FIXED IN, meaning once spent you CAN'T redistribute / reset them (the Reset Attributes button is rather misleading). This is important because:

    2. Perk points can be redistributed (via the Reset Attributes button), but there is a max amount you can spend based on how many Attribute points you have in a branch. So plan ahead your Attribute spending based on what perks you plan to get.

    3. Skill levels increase passively based on how you play. You can't spend any kind of points in them, but every once in a while they will reward you with a Perk point, alongside other permanent benefits.

The wardrobe will only alter how your clothes look, not replace them. To actually unequip what you wear you need to use the Inventory screen. Think of it as transmog. This is important to understand because some wearables have their own stat benefits, which will stay with you if you transmog them into something more fashionable via Wardrobe, but will go away if you unequip such items from Inventory.

Each piece of wearable you loot or buy will automatically be added to your Wardrobe (or transmog) list and stay there even after you let that item go (drop, sell, dismantle, etc). So experiment with your look as much as you like.

  16. I get the sense from the montage, that they wanted to expand on the origin more, but they had to cut stuff. We'll never know how much the longer prologue would've hurt the pacing. It is still a long campaign, depending on how you play ofc.
