  1. Glad Vinny went with the more interesting of the endings. Siding with Song is cool and all but it doesn't hit the same as siding with Reed, that whole sequence at the end of it is the best part of the whole game

  2. As a massive fan of Alien Isolation, I totally get why Vinny is hesitant to play it, and yeah, I do think he'd probably have a less than stellar time, it might make for a good one-off 2hour stream (might not even run into the Alien proper in first 2 hours lol), and then never touch again, but it's biggest weakness is it's too long/padded and the end just feels like it should ended 3/4 times over, and knowing Vinny and how easily he gets lost in games and suffers at stealth sections he would be repeating so many sections over and over and running in circles dying, it wouldn't be fun for anyone after a while.

  3. 1:59:48 This shit has me so confused. The fact Johnny in this ending is so accepting what Reed did an why the NSUA does what what it did…. but the other ending after sending So Mi top the moon and such, he doubles down his cause was better than how the NSUA an Reed used people like Pongs and you got played by So Mi as well.

  4. Beautiful game, but yeah it feels like it's missing the machinery under the skin. There's a thousand doors in the city and only one will open, all those pedestrians and none of them have anything to say. In a world obsessed with sex only three joytoys can be slept with. All those foodcarts and noone has any shrimp.

  5. "I hope this is the right thing."

Best part is, honestly, there are no "right" things. The cyberpunk setting is not about happy endings. It's about people crushed under that giant, uncompromising machine of MegaCorps and government politics. Both Reed and SoMi paths are not ideal. Depending on the player, we want to think we're doing the "right" thing but there's always a cost.

Reed believes he's truly helping SoMi but is too much of an NUSA agent to see he's just kinda handing her over to be poked and prodded for the rest of days. SoMi's ending requires betraying the player's trust at a shot of the only freedom she "might" have, and it's unlikely her end in that would be happy either (or maybe she did with the gift she sends, idk)

I'm glad the ending has different perspectives and that people really wanted to do the path they choose.

Personally (and I might be overthinking this) I didn't side with Reed in the end… which I did, at first, but I also kept thinking his whole dynamic is a personable spy. I kept wondering if he was also trying to play V, in some capacity. By helping SoMi, Reed revealed he was ultimately in service of his mission and Myers, a flawed hope he was helping SoMI in the end. But he was wiling to put V down once V became an obstacle, despite everything.

    Good shit this DLC.

Edit: also that whole "I know she will" by Myers at the end should tell you everything you need to know about what the NUSA has in store for SoMi.

  6. Everytime Vinny says "the writing is really good" both before and after ignoring as much of the story around him as possible, I understand more and more why the MCU is our dominant narrative form.
