Using Blender to put Jack Black into Cyberpunk 2077

What I see vs What you See.

After spending 3 months of editing you best believe I’m gonna be sharing plenty of breakdowns of the effects that made the scenes possible.

For this shot I rigged 2 models Adam Smasher and actually Young Adam Smasher (which I used for Jack Black).

I rotoscope Jack’s head and tracked the motion of it using keentools for blender plugin.

I then downloaded a helmet from sketchfab which I linked.to tracking data so it looked like it was on Jack’s head. I then animated his body movement to match the original scene but took some liberties.

For both Jack and Adam I wanted them to look like they were in the rain so I also applied some shaders that created the wet look. You can’t see it but I also animated it so droplets run down the models.

For the landing I re built the scene in Blender using fspy. And simulated the box breaking as well as glass breaking.

Plenty of sound design and colour correcting and voila.
