  1. So we know the guy is real, we also know Johnny does not see him at all, could it be that the Zen Master invokes a tranquility in V that allows V to blind Silverhand ? This elevation in mental state might be why

  2. another theory – he's an AI that's trying to make V content with letting go of their body, make room for whatever is on the engram, since Songbird proved that Johnny isn't the only one who can "talk" (referencing Hellman) to V's meatbrain

  3. There is a notion that cyberpunk 2077 Takes Place during the revelation in the Bible. The song chipping in, “got my back to the wall”, doesn’t that sound a little bit like the Mark of the beast? Then the point that this story would take place in is after all the Christians have disappeared. So what’s left behind? There’s still hope for these people as revelation says and they have time to repent and all this, but the monks play a role in that. You see monks everywhere. You see no Christians or Churches, except for the one you a Judy come across in the bottom of the lake scuba diving but that was from her childhood. In essence, what I take away from it is that the monk is doing some kind of service for God. During that situation in that time and that political landscape, the spiritual people will be in some kind of active spiritual service.

  4. think about this one time. I believe that FF06b5 statue are the earth elements. The zen master says these elements can heal you. Along with other things. Also maybe you and others don't know monks do not believe in material items such as money. These are things they give up when living life as a monk. Also I have a data shared from the gig where you steal the clothes from the tiger claws says. That bartmose has not paid his bill for the service to keep his body on ice. So they dump him in garage. So if bartmose is on the net. He would need help from someone to get into the world such as the Zen master body. That is not a good theory. To me zen master would be someone from arasaka corporation. If they the zen master were a proxy.

  5. I rather think of the monk just as a real person who somehow had knowledge of V and the chip and recognized the situation and preemptively sought V out while also allowing V to be the one to engage with them just by being present where V may come across them. He disappeared in order for the student (V in this case) to sit with their thoughts rather than asking for everything to be explained as V in this situation is the only person who can actually find the answers to their own questions since what they are experiencing is so unique. Meditation and spirituality is being showcased as the human mind and human experience still being stronger than any technology, which is displayed through its ability to allow V to become just V for a while without the need of force like Songbird. Also, with the way the Blackwall is treated as its own entity and rogue AIs being similar to the typical interpretations of demons and other supernatural phenomenon I believe the purpose of the monk is to show that no matter the technology and its power/integral nature amongst a system, (biochip to V's body for example) the human consciousness is still more powerful and able to overcome any obstacle or physical limitation when given the proper resources. The lessons the monk gives are the resources for V to overcome the chip and to retain a sense of being whole. The fact V makes it as far along in the story as they do is nothing short of remarkable and I think the point is to show that the will and determination of a strong person with the fight to continue living is much more powerful than any technology that looks to mimic the same thing (such as the relic). V becomes a legend while plagued with the attack of the relic on their mind and the physical ailments that come along with it and is stronger than they have ever been. The '"mystery" would seem to be the monk and his nature when the actual mystery is how V has been able to hold on to themselves and their mind through sheer willpower when weaker minds would have given in and crumbled at this point.

That is the way I interpret it at least 🤷‍♂

  6. Based on the comments, I personally like that more and more players are starting to realize So Mi's demonic nature, the fact that she is a witch. It's a great revelation ))
( The diabolical dilemma that Phantom Liberti brings us to – either save the witch from the punishment, or sink into hell with her yourself, with the option to kill her by your own hands or not.)

Again, based on the comments – don't you think we should do an experiment: find this monk and try to reproduce the braindance WHILE V's mind is connected to So Mi via the BlackWall- and see what happens? There are at least two ways to try this – either in the final act of rescuing So Mi, getting out of the spaceport back with her, or during a heart-to-heart talk with her on a bench in Dogtown. I don't know if it'll work.

  7. First Experiment Report with Songbird and Monk: If from the Dogtown parking lot, right during the very first conversation with So Mi, you manage to run to the subway station and get to the park, the first meeting place with Monk, and even start a conversation with him, So Mi will still rudely interrupt the conversation and start yelling that you killed Myers! Furthermore, after being hit by the Black wall, you will be transported back to the parking lot. So either the monk isn't going to help against Songbird, or she's stronger than the monk, unfortunately ((.
P.S. I didn't have time to launch Braindance.

  8. The other reason I would point out he isn't an illusion is because Misty's computer mentions someone seeing him, so if he only existed in V's mind Misty shouldn't be getting emails about him.

The other thing is the elements mentioned are those of classical Western alchemy, except there's a fifth often considered as the ultimate one… that of spirit/soul and that ideally you were trying to work through the others to achieve or alter the soul (the hope of most was to become immortal… that any form of immortality would alter the soul and through it the body). When you consider that and the nature of the Relic it seems not out of left field.
