  1. This video is amazing. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of my absolute favourite works of fiction. Top to bottom, the way its themes are cohesive in every aspect blows my mind.
You put it all into words here so much better than I ever could. It actually made me tear up a bit when you talked about how its a celebration of all that life is.

  2. I played Cyberpunk long after it initially came out, and I went in with low expectations after listening to all the complaints online. Other than knowing about Johny Silverhand who was pushed out the whazoo in the promotional material, I knew nothing about the game's story. I thought I was in for another soulless AAA title with decent gameplay and a boring story. I refer to those kinds of games or movies, or other media as the fast food genre. But I was surprised. The more I played, the more heartfelt I felt it was. The more I loved the story, the characters, the city. In the end, I genuinely loved this game. I only wish there was more of it for me to play. I'm glad I'm not the only one who managed to see it for more than what upset people on the internet made it out to be.

  3. I’ve slowly been taking my time with this game. I started playing a few months ago and now I’m going through all its endings. I only got two left, so I’ll have to wait a bit before I watch this video. Can’t wait to watch though!

  4. I do like that even if you don't have a great relationship with Johnny (like I did) in the Phantom Liberty ending he might berate you for the choice but he still got that tinge of understanding to him especially if you ask could they have been friends under different circumstances and he says maybe cuz at the end of the day everyone just wants to live that bit longer to make sure they lived a life they can be proud of and thought he might bitch about it Johnny can understand that I think at least

  5. It's interesting that Johnny pick the name of his band "Samurai" as a mockery. He wanted to mock, criticise Arasaka and overall Japanese way of living – conformism, lack of individuality, blind adoration of authorities. Basically everything Takemura stands for, who is typical old fashioned samurai, somebody blindly devoted to his master, and would commit seppuku without second thought…..

Cyberpunk 2077 main message is obviously freedom and being yourself. The same thing could be found in Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Where Dorio wanted David to embrace Arasaka standards, become conformist, adapt worship authorities and kill his own individuality. When she died David could actually truly find yourself. While she wasn't bad person, she was villain in the story. She was Takemura in David life when Lucy was Johnny.

  6. 8:50 I personally disagree. In my opinion V is both. V is both an agency for the player's roleplay as well as a character themselves. It's just the path that the player chooses creates their own canonical character for V. It's just there are certain endings that the devs are saying are wrong while others are right.
