  1. It also has another layer of meaning. The quote "it's better to burn out than to fade away" is originally found on a Neil Young song, and was actually the final line on Kurt Kobain's suicide note. That quote, if turned into a question, is pretty much sinonimous with the in game quote "Quiet life, or blaze of glory?" (burn out, or fade away?) so the song Never Fade Away is an anthem of the main question this game is asking us.

  2. This song also plays at the endings and it is also about V that he or she will never fade away… If you accept Arasaka's offer to be digitalised you will see your character's face and then this song plays as you are about to be soulkilled and stored away somewhere in Arasaka.

  3. Poor Johnny :(( he really got me to like him at the end of the story. Im gonna be playing as a corrupt corpo that wants revenge on arasaka but hates Johnny because of brainwashing, and I'm gonna take Hanakos deal at the end. I'm gonna hate myself
