So fully agree with all this but would like to add but is in my own opinion I may disclaim that I believe while uploading Johnny to soul killer that spider Murphy tampered with his memories would be cool to find out why his memories are the way they are and why he knows his memories are fucked…imo once again lol

but here's the thing, adam smasher was ordered by saburo arasaka to dispose of JS body which is why he has his stuff(tipped in quest dialogue) which would not make sense if the event of JS getting soul killed in front of saburo had not happened (hard to believe saburo would order adam smasher to track down and bury JS body for no reason) plus the fact saburo still remembers JS face even after decades(from his own journal). all these information did not come from johnny so you can't use the excuse of johnny misremembering events.
it seems the game is in a different time line, one in which JS at least didn't die in the tower and was soul killed not by spider but in the presence of saburo.

I've always loved how Johny see's himself as this anarchist terrorist fighting against the 'man' in 2077, when the act he is known for was one of the most blatent corporate and government sponsored events in cyberpunk history! Militech isn't any better than Arasaka, the only reason Johny had a beef with Arasaka was because they kidnapped his girlfriend, not because he was fighting any great cause. He took corpo money as quickly as the next guy!
