  1. If they decide to add one more DLC after Phantom Liberty, maybe they could include these Night City “Beverly Hills” style area for the rich and powerful of Night City, even the cut casino. But I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

  2. So a bit of context for that prerelease map you pulled out: It dates back to about 2014/2015. By then, they had already begun with the actual city blockout and had found the actual scope of the game map. And the original preprod version of the map was just way to expansive for 400 developer core team.

North oak had a couple for buildings in the newer version of the map, but not anywhere near as many as you suggested.

The north oak casino was a concept solely for cyberpunk online.

Regarding the ncart rail you said could have originally been a road: No, that was basically always a ncard rail.

And yes, of course during phantom liberty preproduction this was all rediscussed and there were some meetings regarding the casino and north oak but as you all now see the main focus was decided to be dogtown.

  3. one recent part of unfinished or cut content is during the "no easy way out" quest in phantom lib, where you're supposed to be able to kill the animal gang that would otherwise kill aaron if you chose to get his chip deactivated, but alas the arena for them never got added into the game, so the animal gang enemies are quite literally just floating underneath the map, unable to be accessed

  4. I truly believe after initially cutting it, they planned to upgrade that area in a DLC (back when they had two dlcs in the works) and then the release happens yada yada yada they cut that down to only one DLC (phantom liberty and filling out Pacifica) well I guarantee you Westbrook was going to probably be the original first DLC and it expanded the city a bit (hearts of Stone style) and then phantom liberty was gonna be the second with its own little “mini city” combat zone (dogtown). But they cut the Casino one to more fast track to the second cyberpunk game.

  5. Like in an actual world, alot of cities have ongoing-developing sites (road that cut off, barren area whether construction is in-planning or not). So I would say the same goes for Night City. Even some of the "unused" structures you showed has these makeshift scafolding and crane structures. From the perspective of game development, if at any point they want to expand those areas, the connecting parts / assets are there; or in-game realism, those are just simply places under city-development. On the other hand, to have a city that's perfectly cut off in a sandbox, that actually feels more unrealistic. So I think these details are fine. I know you are probably reaching for "hmm so at one point, they are considering this and that, etc".. And I think those are fun to think about. I'm already super happy with how the great sense of city Night City felt and to think what those under-development areas could bring, perhaps they changed their mind about only having 1 DLC, just excites me even more.

  6. i dont know what to think about that… if the area was interesting it s stupid to not use it… if its like the badland dont need it… enough empty desertic and far away area in badlands. dont need more boring desert.

  7. Seeing all this within a game I find very close to my heart is very saddening.
Granted a lot of good games have cut content but not to this extent that I’m aware of.
I would have happily waited 3 years extra delay to see this game shown the love that the devs had for this game that it deserved. Just poorly managed and pressured by people higher up to make money is sickening. I have not got the new DLC just yet but I definitely will and 2.0 was definitely needed and purely a result of trying to fix what greed has done to it. I hope the higher ups have learned their lesson (probably not) and when the next cyberpunk comes out it’s given the love it needs.

  8. sad Bethesda's development wasnt good enough for this masterpiece of an idea

like seriously cyberpunk is just so deep, could've been the next GTA 5 for the next years. But we'll just have to see with Project Orion or what sequel bethesda goin with

  9. You never know, Night City might be used again in the next or future cyberpunk title and include an entirely new massive area. Ive been exploring a lot, walking mostly by foot and Night city is quite impressive. Ive no real idea and im just talking with no experience or expertise, but I think similar to GTA a major part of game development went into the city.
