I've heard the "3% unknown" scanner theory before, but it's not compelling to me. I scan people all day every day; if the bags contained people, my Kiroshis ought to tell me. Not saying that Biotechnica isn't cloning humans for consumption, but I'm not sure that's the smoking gun right there.
Also not sure what benefit there would be to cloning humans for meat – cannibalism increases risk of disease from prions, and the risk is greatly reduced by consuming more phylogenically-different animals. Not saying that Biotechnica gives a whistling clown fart about the risk to consumers, but there would have to be a really compelling reason to do people instead of some other animal because of the risk to the corporation – which is what they DO care about.
imagine how deadly arasaka would be if they had an alliance with biotechnica or any other corporation.
These videos are so cool man! I’m just getting back into cyberpunk again and this series in particular is really helping me dive deep and appreciate some hidden elements of the game. It’s all really fascinating and you’re a great storyteller!
Ever since playing deus ex I felt that these games were trying to tell us something; warning us of the dangers of merging with AI, losing touch with humanity, or more worryingly, giving away our power entirely to corporate interests.. the way it predicts what the likes of the World Economic Forum have planned with their “fourth Industrial Revolution” through their so-called “great reset”.. it’s either a warning or it’s predictive programming.
