Made by Polish slavs in Poland. But that’s pretty much it. Has some squatting gopniks though.

  1. Day 2 of asking Boris to review either of the Pathologic games. Here's me running it through the checklist, although I reckon the shear Russianness of the game means it passes the slav vibe check.
    1. Main character slav: One main character is Russian, with a polish surname. Another is part Buryat and part Russian. And the third one kinda just popped out of the ground, but she did so in Russia, so I think she's still a slav.
    2. Slav voice option: There's Russian audio options for both versions of the game. Also unlike something like Cyberpunk 2077, the game was originally made in Russian, with the English version being the localized one.
    3. Slav Mythology: More loose inspiration than pure references, but my friend has done some great analysis of the Kin religion (fictional Buryat subgroup) and found how its a syncretism of slavic paganism and tengrism.
    4. Slav food and drink: Naw, just staples and being desperate.
    5. Made by slavs: Made by Ice Pick Lodge, indie Russian studio.
    6. Slav side characters: Literally every character who isn't Kin (Buryat) is Russian.
    7. Slav apparel: No nothing modern slav apparel, but maybe some stuff counts that I'm not thinking of (I haven't actually played the sequel/remake myself)
    8. Slav weapons: No bats or rifles that look like kalashnikovs, but I don't know what also count as slav weapons. There's a lot of shanking people.
    9. Slav cars/bikes: No cars or bikes at all.
    10. Slav Geography: This is where it wins. It's set in a creepy small town on the Russian steppe.
    11. Boris: no
    12. Toilet destruction: they don't even have toilets.

  2. Pc gamers should try playing cyberpunk now. Its lot hella fun. Thank God I waited for a year then started playing. Then again I wont blame those people who preordered and started playing as soon as the game is released.
These days most game devs use consumers(gamers) as guniea pigs and we act as alpha/beta testers.
But in case of cyberpunk, the game was released early because of pressure from CEO and other higher board members. The devs knew the state of the game was not fit for release. But the management thought an early release is viable for their investors.
Basically its a classic example of management vs employees
In most cades, the management wins. The employees either quit the company rest bow down to these pressures because one has to save their job. In the end the devs had to bear the brunt.

Still the current version of cyberpunk is great. ign japan gave it GOTY. When the japanese journalist giving this GOTY, trust me they aint fanboying. Nor they are following the industry nepotism and bullying. Its imperative that a massive game like cyberpunk will have bugs. People will have to be patient and back them up.

  3. There’s actually multiple Russian-made weapons in the game, such as the RT-46 Burya and the Grad sniper rifle (having a hard time remembering the names)
Also, it’s mentioned in one of the side missions that the Soviet Union still exists in cyberpunk 2077’s world!
