Today we’re talking about the best ending (personal opinion of course) in Cyberpunk 2077. I say this is the best ending because many of these characters who I’ve gotten to know quite well through playing the game seem generally happy in the ending. I will be going through what happens after we decide what to do at the roof of Misty’s shop.

I think this ending is the most hopeful but not the best. V is doomed, in fact V is actually dead and an AI approximation of their already warped psyche is piloting their rebooted corpse. I feel as though its unfair to place the aldecaldos in danger for a copy of their dead family member to stick around for 6 more months. The preacher on the news had it right "instead of saying goodbye, we haunt ourselves with their voices, their presence. It's a soulless algorithm speaking with the voice of the departed". I think the AI of the cyberpunk world are sentient and deserving of existence, but not just one at the cost of at countless lives. Don't Fear the Reaper is arguably better(for V's friends anyway)
One last drive around the city. The Sun is setting. Free Bird is playing. V and Johnny pull up to Arasaka’s front door. Johnny says, “time to part like it’s 2023.” Free Bird solo starts. Arasaka holocaust.
V gifts Johnny his body.
That’s best ending.
i hope you do the secret ending as well! it was, to me, the best ending
I think what makes The Star Ending so special, and in my mind, the only ending I'll ever choose, is it shows that Dex's stance of "Quiet Life or Blaze of Glory" isn't as binary as he makes it out to be, and what exactly it means to be a legend. Imo, The Sun ending isn't worth it to become a legend to a corrupt city especially when you've lost the human connections (well Panam and Judy, Kerry seems to stick with Male V in the Sun ending).
With The Star Ending, with my V, the ending shows that V can go out in a Blaze of Glory in order to achieve that Quiet Life. The Aldecaldos are willing to go out in a Blaze of Glory to help V, because they see her as family. The true Glory isn't becoming a legend to a city, it's becoming a legend to the connections, the family she's made. Helping Kerry step out of his own shadow, helping River with his family and conflict with the force, winning fights to see Vik proud, seeing eye-to-eye with Johnny and the two becoming comrades, bonding with Panam, with her becoming a surrogate sister to V, who she needed after losing Jackie, falling in love with Judy after the two lost their closest friends and consistently got burned in Night City. These moments are what make V a legend in people's hearts, and I'd say that's what it takes to truly become a legend. Not to a city, but to the people you love.
And yeah, ultimately I do think that V got cured or got a new body, especially since the Aldecaldos have ties to StormTech, and in the Tabletop Lore, they have extensive research on nanotechnology and biotechnology. On top of The Tower ending showing that V can indeed be cured (albeit at the loss of chrome, but what's not to say the NUSA did that deliberately so V can come back to them, similar to Arasaka), then The Star definitely shows that V has a significantly greater chance of being cured than any other, especially with loved ones by V's side.
Just completed this amazing game the other day. The ending with my V and Panam as a couple riding off into the sunset with their family has so much hope for the future written into it! With Misty‘s tarot card reading, Panam’s contacts to help V, and all the other signs pointing towards them being able to find a cure for V is awesome! I imagine them getting married, having kids! Such a beautiful ending. I hope we get to continue their story together. In my mind, they found the cure for V and they went off and lived a happy life in love, and with all their loved ones. Johnny being reunited with Alt is a fitting send off for him too. I just love these characters so much! I hope for a bright future, and to see them again!
amazing video, well done, edited, explained. the only thing that gets me is how did i fuck up so many of these relationships in my first playthrough!? Am i a bad friend? a bad person? I'm going to go cry in the dark now
Secret Ending is the best ending – done.
