The Bare Minimum The ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ 1 5 Next Gen Patch Must Deliver

Well, it’s 2022, and we don’t know when in “Q1” CDPR will release its 1.5 patch and next-gen upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077, nor even when they’ll start talking about it. Current best guesses are a February reveal for a March release, but we’ll see. The only comment CDPR has given so far is responding to a lengthy leak alleging to know what was coming as “not adding up.” The problem? That leaks contained many, many things players did want to see, so we’re not sure what is or is not coming in the patch or future DLC. The way I see it, there are a few essential things that I think are must-haves for Cyberpunk 2077’s 1.5 patch, which will also be the launch of next-gen versions of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Raytracing – Given that it’s been over a year since Cyberpunk 2077 launched on last gen consoles, and players have been playing PS4 Pro and Xbox One X upconverted versions on new gen consoles during that time, of the performance improvements I want to see, raytracing is definitely at the top of that list in addition to more generalized upgrades. It’s what takes the game from looking good to looking amazing on PC, and it would be a fantastic boost for these new consoles. New Game Plus – Again, another must-have, given that players who have played the PS4 and Xbox One versions will be looking for a reason to play the game again, so I cannot think of a better time to debut New Game Plus, where you can start over again retaining your gear and skills, and upgrade your V even further. I wouldn’t mind another level of difficulty on top of Very Hard as well, but we’ll see. Appearance Customization – Whether it’s a barbershop, tattoo parlor or cosmetic surgeon, one of the most ridiculous aspects of CDPR’s grand cyberpunk fantasy is that you cannot change the look of your V other than their clothing post-character creation. Without question, this is an essential feature, and in a perfect world, this would also arrive with more customization options, hair styles, scars, cybernetics, tattoos, than we got at launch. At Least A Few More Gigs – New Game Plus is great, but some actually new content to play would be ideal, even if it’s minimal. Cyberpunk 2077’s Gigs are not terribly lengthy missions, and I’m not talking about sprawling side missions here. Just something new, which has been indicated by datamines, but we’ll see when and if it actually arrives. New Toys – Again, over a year after launch, it’s time to deliver on some of this free DLC. For me, that’s more clothes, more guns and more cars, even if it’s just a few. So far free DLC has given us two jackets and one car, and I’m hoping for a bit more than that this time around. Maybe we can knock one of these off the list, but after all this time, if 1.5 doesn’t deliver most of this, I’ll be somewhat disappointed, and I don’t think this will be the second chance Cyberpunk needs if it doesn’t give players these kinds of things. It’s also possible I’m under-estimating what 1.
