  1. I think people are bitter by the fact we all wanted to see David and Lucy at the end, tbh you couldn’t really go around the death at the end. You couldn’t kill Adam since you kill him one year later and they had Lucy hostage David kinda had to die

  2. Lots of comments and lots of amazing thoughts on this whole idea. Here are mine and why I think we could very well see him again. Why add that line to smasher dialog? We know that nothing in Cyberpunk happens just because. It always has meaning and they intentionally add things to get people talking and give hints of things to come. Why did they want David? His body, his mind, has a high tolerance to Cyberware. Why wouldn't saka want to to study that, why wouldn't saka want to some day stick someone else's construct in that body. Smasher maybe? Him having his head blown off could go either way, as brutal as this anime is why wouldn't they have shown it like Becca or any of the other cyberpunks. Lots of little clues but in the end we won't know till we know. CDPR has been super sneaky and there are tons of secrets left to be discovered in 2077, so why not assume there are tons of secrets in edgerunners as well.

  3. We got a perfect ending for a perfect story, sometimes you don't get a happy ending, you dont always get closure, even moreso in night city, the theme of "(not) being special" was a big part of the anime. To bring back any dead character would go against the message you're left with at the end of the show. The gaze at the ceiling wondering what life means lol

  4. I doubt it honestly, and I kinda don't want him too. As sad as the ending to edge runners is, I'd rather it remain sad. Bringing David back would take away the emotional weight for me and I'll feel like an idiot for crying like a little bitch ahaha

  5. Okay hear me out, remember jimmy the braindance maker? He said something about the military prototypes like david's sandevistan, he said they got a braindance recorder or something like that, so maybe davids memories can be copied from that, just something i thought of an probably sounds dumb but i think it has some sense

  6. You know, when I first did the mission in the game for his jacket and Falco says let it go but it wouldnt be too hard to find out if he looks into it, I thought he was alive..either way. David is/was a bamf, and my V toasts to him. Good on you, choom.

  7. i feel David and his crew already serve the purpose and role within the story. as much as I like the crew and obviously Becca, its best to let them rest and earn their legend status. I would love to have interaction with Lucy on the other hand maybe if they decide to do another dlc for crystal palace heist (hopefully if they denied their one time off expansion) or future game

  8. Id like to say we could possibly see David again in the expansion and they can use that construct line from Smasher for something. But he also got his head shot off right after so probably no way. But we could maybe see Falco or Lucy still and they could talk about him. Or one of them sacrifice themselves like at the the end of the original story unless you go by yourself with Johnny. And they could have a line saying something like its what David would do.

  9. I don't think the characters in this franchise should come back, if anything death is really their only way out a majority of the time. The thing about cyberpunk is that underneath the flash of its world and the glamour of being a punk, there's no difference with how this lifestyle affects you in reality. The thrill, the feelings of invincibility, the greed and betrayal and the descent into darkness wherein the only thing coming is to either turncoat and get on the grind like everyone else or die in the streets. Anyone who takes this up isn't planning to stick around long, David had his opportunity to see where his actions would take him when he was with Maine in his last moments and he decided to carry on because he like many others in this series or sadly in real life felt genuinely as though he wasn't a fit for anything else. A young, brilliant child with a life ahead of him tossed it all to the side for the allure of fast cash, living out a power fantasy fueled by revenge only to burn out like a star. And as Johnny had to witness through V, there won't be some grand mural or memorial for people like this. Stories like theirs play out on a daily basis, everyone wants to be someone even if it costs them their life.
