The thing I found iconic about cyberpunk’s endings is they all relate to that one question by Dexter at the beginning of the game, “live as a nobody or die in a blaze of glory.” And every ending relates to it as every ending in which V survives basically has him fading into being a nobody but the ones where he dies whether it’s in six months or immediately he goes out as a legend of Night City. The only two exceptions being where he dies ends himself or gives control to Johnny.
how is going out into the desert and leaving night city with the aldecaldos or storming arasaka tower singlehandedly a bad ending??? its not perfect but it aint as shitty as people make it out to be
Game should have ended with V dying in Mikoshi and his life flashing before his eyes right up to the point he and Jackie discover the iguana and then let you play all those cut scene jobs and finish up gigs and such that way.
Welcome to the world of Cyberpunk. Though I love the Cyberpunk 2077, as well the TTRPG Cyberpunk 2020. This is how the game is played. The world is dark, and life is cheap, if not worthless. Still it's the one part of the game that really does annoy me. Because if you go by the book no one wins. Basically you may win the battles, but you are going to lose the war. In the Cyberpunk 2020 TTRPG rule book it tells the DMs if any of your characters get to powerful a sniper bullet takes out the character. Basically make s mew character and start all over again. 😒 It's the one part of the game that I really don't like. As a player I know what it's like to put the work into a character, and that character dies. Worse the your character dies in a bad way. I don't want it to happen to my character, and I don't want to fo that to a player character. Basically a bullet comes out of no where and boom your dead. I believe you can have a dark game like Cyberpunk, and the players can still win, and lose at the same time. ..
No it shouldnt have a happy ending, happy endings are over used, and lets be real, a trigger happy harlot who has hundreds of bodies tallied on the gun really doesnt deserve a happy end
Its more about the journey. Getting close to those who, throughout the whole game, were there by your side, and the choices you made that influenced those relationships. It's a perfect example of enjoy the journey, not the destination, because one day, your journey will end, and no one truly knows when so live it up while you can with those you cherish. At least, that's how I interpreted it.
There could be something powerful about a happy ending if done right- i'd argue the Aldecaldos ending is fairly happy overall- cause there is hope that everything will turn out well, so yeah, i think a happy ending could work, but it would be hard to pull off
I feel like the option should have been there because V never earned their bad ending (Like David did, for example) but I am still happy with what we got. Panams ending is as good as you're gonna get because you can only be happy by leaving NC and with so much hinted at in The Star and The Sun endings, V will very likely get some powerful support…. wether from friends or from beyond the Blackwall, that we will never know though
Im confused whos to say theres not a chance V survives most endings? With The Star its possible to find something with Panam as its hinted to by the conversation with her, The Sun ending has V storm into the orbital casino/resort which sounds very plausible especially given the events survived during Phantom Liberty and especially if they take the route of (dont) fear the reaper into Arasaka Tower. I would say easily most endings its by all means possible V lives may not be happy but its much better than either the path of least resistance, The Devil and The Tower all 3 of these V essentially signs a life ending deal tho id say the tower is a missed opportunity for V to have possibly joined the FIA
leaving with panam was the best i got the others…. like fuck the guy cant get a break …then again dont fear the reaper might have implied that last mission had the cure he wanted
The best ending is leaving with Panam. She is the best female character ever and leaving with her makes sense plus I like to think you and Panam find a cure it’s the only ending that I have done and will ever do
Tbf sun is as close to a happy ending as
No
Look at all those endings all them shits is not happy in fact the real happy ending would be most likely be V killing himself

imma say the truth about the game and johnny said it too, there are no happy endings in night city

Panama her ending is the best they have 6 months to find a cure and her friends found someone who can do it even if they can't he's not alone anymore
The cyberpunk genre isn't known for being happy or joyful its sad and depressing. That's why 2077 and Edgerunners hurt
Yes It should have Plus away to continue the game
Being that there are multiple endings I believe there should be one good ending at least not a happy one but a good one or two
