Some Cyberpunk 2077 lore for today: In Watson, the Maelstrom performed a bloody ritual that concluded with someone turned into a Cyberpsycho. What did really happen there?

In here the MadQueen is going to explain the lore of the Maelstrom, the religion they practice (Satanism), and the relation it has with their obsession with cybernetic implants, where this religion comes from since the Middle Ages, all the way to 2077, how it intersects with the Cyberpunk genre not only in Cyberpunk 2077 but also in William Gibson, and what do the occultism of Nazis has to do with all this.

It deserves a video and I think you would only give the right answer /Madqueen dime por qué el ripperdoc Fingers se parece tanto al actor de peliculas hc Harry Rivera (tb. Uncle Harry, Dirty Harry). Merece video y creo que tu solo darias la respuesta acertada 😉

  3. Excuse me, Lilith is a Jewish invention, in one of the later rabbinical books explaining a small reference to a demon in one of the psalms, a demon in the then current to the psalm in question Babylonian pagan faith during the time of the Exile from Jerusalem. (lilou demons were mentioned in the psalm as harpies not as a goddess, they were a curse to be warded off to the Babylonians) The whole Lilith first wife of Adam thing was a Rabbinical conjecture in that book, which coincidentally also included a polemic against Christianity. Not a lot of material regarding lilith in Christian sources in ancient times, save from what was picked up from Judaism.

  4. So the S in the Maelstrom gang's logo WAS changed from being the S from the Shitbag Scum gang's Logo?! I wonder if that was only for the American version of the game. :/
Is the S still like that for people playing the game in Europe?
Anyway, would very much like to see ya do a video on the more positive sides of religion in Cyberpunk 2077, Mad Queen. About Misty, the Zen Master, and the Buddhist Brothers or some real good examples. There's also the quests with Joshua, but my feelings on that one are more mixed. >.>

  5. As always your knowledge and research is truly impressive.

Soulkilled. Transend to a higher plane of existence. Six of one, half a dozen of another. Glad to see someone else sees that ritual the same way. I hope they explore this more. Would like to have a few more creepy horror side quests thrown in.

Loved the taxis joke. How to reduce nazism down to the ridiculous in one line.

  6. Thumbing you up (that sounds a little dirty…) doesn't seem enough for this fine video, so let me talk a little rubbish.
In another context we could call that Maelstrom ritual "possession" of the woman by the AI. No indication that she was soulkilled (which is backup followed by a wipe), simply wiped. The original soulkiller written by Alt was just a backup (am I right about that?), Arasaka added the wipe function (Helleman talks about how the Relic was supposed to be used on someone who was "neurally neutral" or something to that effect). Alt is now in possession of that version.
I think the sub-theme of the series is going to be V's search for all the pieces. All the pieces of immortality seem to exist, but nobody has all the pieces under one roof. Some megacorp is supposed to have human cloning tech. Arasaka and Alt have the latest Soulkiller and the Relic for uploading to a meat host (Alt seems to be able to use magic?). NightCorp has CP-07 to do some selective brain editing, something less that full control and harder to detect. Clouds has the doll implant and the dolls are driven remotely by … another AI ("The Algorithm")? The VDB have that "spectre" tech where they "see what you see, hear what you hear". Blue Eyes seems to be always connected, is he being driven by another AI?
The Arasaka ending makes sense. Yorinobu after his failed coup gets Soulkilled, archived in Mikoshi, and Saburo uses the Relic to upload into his mostly-compatible body. We may see Yorinobu in a later game.
V is going to need a compatible body, and he doesn't have any convenient adult children. So he's going to need a clone, but that could take a while, maybe until the third game. Maybe he needs to jump bodies a couple of times? Kick back in the Ghost World and remotely drive some other body?
This is all going to be fascinating and I can't wait to see what happens next!

  7. Very cool video. This was some of my favourite content from the game (I do love the Maelstrom…they are just so batshit over-the-top crazy), but I really do hope they dig into it more. I think I recall "Lilith" being mentioned 3 times (she's one of my favourite mythological figures), once in relation to the ritual in your video. Then the first time I think I heard it was in that one gig where you watch some deal for a chip between some Maelstrom and some mysterious corpos, then have to get the chip. I think Lilith got name dropped in there. The last one was just a shard unrelated to the previous two I found somewhere.

I'm very interested to learn more about this twisted occultism side of the Maelstrom. Did I miss anything?

ps, it's always good to poke fun at actual naught-sees and the little man with the funny moustache. If Mel Brooks taught me anything it's that mockery and satire are great ways to steal power away from bad ideas and the people that push them.

  8. Here is something you might finds intriguing…During "Disasterpiece", when you log into the Dark Web(net?) at the terminal next to Wakako, there was a kid sitting there. When I walked by he said "My Name is Legion for there is many of us" And the kid responds "Help Me, He wants to erase me. The "Legion" reference is a New Testament possession reference, and I think it is connected to Mr Blue Eyes.

  9. I love this video and actually meant to ask you if the Maelstrom are described as being some sort of ocult cyber-neo-nazis in the lore as well, bc they do kinda signal that. Which lead me to wonder if there are antifascist gangs in NC lore, at least before 2077.
