  1. I really enjoyed this sequence. When I first started playing this game, I honestly thought this quest was going to be "hey, here's a sex cutscene followed by plot". I was NOT expecting a therapy session centered around our character's mortality. Really well done, imo

  2. Wow, V's deepest desire is to be told that it'll all be okay when confronting their fear of mortality? What a true degenerate. Probably the freakiest thing seen in Clouds lately.

  3. Man, that whole scene with Skye might just be one of my favourite moments in video games and cyberpunk genre as a whole. It feels super intimate on multiple levels, lets V voice their inner struggles and confront their existential fears in a vulnerable moment resembling an earnest conversation with a loved one, all while hammering home how that whole interaction was, at the end of the day, just a product curated for them by AI and sold by a corp that horribly mistreats its workers, routinely making them into hollow dolls to be overriden by algorithm for their services and gets rid of them without second thought when they can no longer perform. This scene is a small respite from that all-encompassing reality of an uncaring system that grinds people with dreams into a pulp, but at the same time it's still very much a part of that same system. As Woolie said, it's very disco.

  4. I didn't realize they changed the "Angel/Skye" selection. Used to be she just asks you which one, without any preview of who they are. Was hilarious seeing friends talk about how they thought Angel was the girl and lost their shit that their male characters hooked up with another dude.

  5. Look, I'm REALLY looking forward to a future with brain-connected devices. The potential is off the charts, thinking about how we could streamline so many parts of life, work, etc. On the other hand, the downsides are such a clear and present danger already, with devices that we already use every single day. I can't imagine how much worse it could get if we're literally plugging OURSELVES into a network that could be compromised at any given moment, and fucked with in all manner of horrific ways.

People joke about hacking your Spotify implant to Rickroll on a neurological level, making you forget your daily routines and basic information that's been downloaded into your brain directly, or most recently, "hack your Neuralink and give you gender dysphoria." The thought of shit like that not only being a reality, but just being the tip of the cyberpunk nightmare, absolutely terrifies me to my core.

  6. Woolie's "fuck the future" moment is exactly why T Bug's death is so fucked to me. Her cover got blown and in a couple seconds she got her brain absolutely fried. That shit is legitimately terrifying.

  7. Reggie's right Ozeki is the highest rank in sumo you can get by just winning. There are currently only 3 with 0 yokozuna as of a week ago.
Fun fact: E. Honda is an Ozeki, since his techniques are considered too out there to be a Yokozuna.

  9. Genuinely, that bed scene in Clouds was one of my favourite scenes in this game. There's moments like this that catch you off guard because of how deep and personal it gets when you're reminded of your mortality. I personally like the male version of the convo. The guy's VA KILLED it. Damn near made me teary eyed ngl.

  10. I just beat the fuck out of Woodman with my Gorilla fists anyway, and even if I'd have done Jotaro first (which I'm not sure if I had or not by that point) I still woulda beat the everliving shit out of Woodman anyway. So satisfying to give these fucks what they deserve.

  11. As much of the emotional core of this moment is really palpable, I really can’t think of anything more dystopian and pathetic than a innermost desire algorithm coming to the conclusion that the thing you need most is accept the fact you’re essentially a walking corpse and puppeting a prostitute to have a micro therapy and cuddle session. Like if Holden Caufield was in Black Mirror, I love this game.

Also love how as it goes on, it becomes less clear who exactly that moment is for. The worker acknowledges V, but burning the world down if you have to sounds a lot more like Johnny’s MO.
