  1. I played this game with path tracing on a 10gb 3080 at 1440p using path tracing and it was 30 fps most of the time (using balanced dlss) and the game looked great and felt ok. It was like console with crazy visuals.

  3. I was thinking of upgrading to this in my main system, but from a 24 Gb 3090, the VRAM loss isn't worth it. The 4090 is my only option….but, I'm gonna wait until 50 series. 40 series is as disappointing as the 20 series it seems. As for RT Overdrive……I like it, but it's not gonna be viable until the 60 series at least. I don't dig Framegen either. Also, you'd get better performance with 1440p DLSS balanced…….1707×960. Ran into the same problem when I wanted to upgrade my 1080p machine from a 3060ti. Even the 4070 is a bad choice because of the 192 bit bus width. Very disappointed in this gen of GPUs to say the least……fake frames and narrow bus widths. You have to also consider that I was getting the exact same frames with both a 3080 and a 3090…meaning, that the game is still not optimized after three years, and cannot fully utilize GPUs and CPUs properly. We're looking at a game that has been pushed much closer towards console optimization than we care to admit.

  4. I do have a technical question for you. How do you go about changing gpus and managing your DirectX and NVShader caches for your vids? I know Nvidia drivers are unified so to speak, but none of my PCs ever behave in such a way(Swap and Play). If I swap a gpu, I have to absolutely delete my caches, or there is abysmal performance until I do, as those shaders were compiled for a different GPU. For instance, when I pop a 3090 in the place of a 3080…I get 3080 performance…until I delete old shaders, or completely reinstall the driver which does the same thing. What is your process? Because I feel a lot of benchmarkers are not getting accurate results because of this discrepancy. Also, in that same vain, how do you benchmark games whose caches take a few plays to build? You cannot just load them up and say, yup,..these are my fps. Also, to benchmark this game properly, driving isn't the way. Running…yes, running through crowds during the brightest part of the day, high noon, will show you what the CPU and GPU can handle. Until you do that, it's an artificial benchmark, as running through crowds (City Center, Cherry Blossom Market, Behind Tom's Diner, etc) hammers both the CPU and GPU with all the extra bounce traces from the people's clothing, etc. Walking through these crowds doesn't push the CPU or GPU much. Driving certainly doesn't. it's comparable to benchmarking Witcher 3 without going to Novigrad.

  5. G'day Kryzzp & Digimoon,
Maybe if you do another CB2077 Pathtracing video you can start with a quick shot of Bob's Roundabout using the settings at "Quality Ray Tracing 1080p" then change to "Path Tracing 1080p" as you are showing us the setting you are going to use for the rest of the video, it will give the difference of how much more intense Path Tracing it is for the GPU without needing to go back.

  6. Frame generation has input lag because even though fps counter may show a higher fps, the game is still technically running at a lower fps and it has the input lag of that lower fps. If you use fg to increase the fps from 30 to 50 for example, it still has the input lag of 30 fps

  7. I called the police and told them what kind of car you're driving. I have you on video killing Bob. I told them that he is stuck in the umbrella and that you are the guy driving around with path tracing on and changing settings a lot so they'll be able to see you easily. If you will apologize to Bob's family I will ask the judge to give you a lighter sentence. I know you really didn't mean to kill Bob since you thought you were just playing a game.

  8. Recently finished the main game of Assassin's Creed Odyssey at roughly the same framerates as 1440p native, on a Ryzen 7 5800u.
Would call it perfectly playable (even killed a lot of enemies with headshots from fairly up close with the bow), and I was playing with medium to high settings, but at half the resolution.
I don't think I would do that with a 4080, especially considering that you don't have to compromise visuals much (If any in the game I was playing) to get 60 fps, but on integrated graphics (Minus the recent RDNA2 or 3, the best of which I found was on Mendocino CPUs and would be a downgrade), it would be either impossible or would require minimum settings at 50% of 720p.
