Rache Bartmoss IS ALIVE | Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners Update

Let me clue you in on one thing. The legendary netrunner Rache Bartmoss is far from dead. A body in a world of biosculpting? Some uninformed mercenaries? Worthless in the face of a Cyberpunk dystopia. The mastermind behind the Datakrash is alive and kicking, and he’s got something big in store in Cyberpunk Orion. First it was Johnny Silverhand, then Alt Cunningham and Rache Bartmoss. Who else could possibly be in the shadows…

  1. Yeah you definitely made me think about the possibility of his survival.

When they said Arasaka did a moonshot against the dude I guess I just accepted him as dead but the Kold Mirage quest never sat well with me, the silly quickhacks not even made by Bartmoss and the neglect at the chatlogs, like even if the chatlogs were Rache's, those messages would be hella meaningful in regards of some topic. Must've been some dirt in there.

The convenience of suddenly finding him and his coordinates, along with the anticlimactic ending of the quest did leave me wondering what the heck happened. I was really underwhelmed, but now I'm a lot more open to seeing what's really going on.

  2. Rache Bartmoss was hinted to be very much alive in "Rache Bartmoss Guide To The Net" On the back cover of the Sourcebook: It read: "Rache Bartmoss, the world's greatest netrunner, is dead. Now he's got time to finally write his memoirs".
I find very unlikely that Rache Bartmoss didn't have a escape plan by uploading himself to the Net when every single Arasaka netrunner was gunning for him in 2022..

  3. This theory definitely makes me think that Rache could be alive. With tech being so much more advanced, it's quite possible that the body we find is a clone Rache made to throw off Arasaka. Maybe he's walking around in a new body, totally unrecognizable, or he's hiding deep in the old net, waiting to reemerge in the real world in a new body when he feels the time is right. But either way, I do believe that he, like Alt, is 'alive' within the net, somewhere. Maybe he'll get to be a part of the story in the sequel, who knows.

  4. I imagine if you comb through that landfill you'd find several such containers with traps just like that cyberdeck and clone bodies. Bartmoss probably had hundreds of threads for people to follow that are dead ends like the collective and this body modified with his face. I don't know if he is alive or not but these felt like wild goose hunts he may have set up while he was alive to throw off pursuers.

  5. I dunno, he created a bunch of AI controlled drones that were controlled by personalities instead of AI, what are the odds you accidentally find the real Bartmoss while hunting drones in the next game?

  6. Anyone notice that the name of the quest is literally called a Kold Mirage the significance being that a Mirage is defined as a illusion basically not real it's Cdpr way of saying that what your looking at isn't the real thing.

  7. LBGam, I would love to see you collaborate with LKM (LastknownMeal) and Neon Arcade. You all cover the lore of Cyberpunk so well and engaging. 😁 If you get the time, also watch Madqueenshow cyberpunk lore videos. Classic and so good. Looking forward to your next cyberpunk video! 😃

  8. Lot to take in on this video, in under fifteen minutes. I agree that Pondsmith has left basically unlimited possibilities to bring back characters, or it might just be the world of CP that gives these possibilities, as there can be multiple engrams, versions or clones of all of the main characters, and you can bend the story as you wish with it still being logical. [Spoilers ahead]
I wonder if this, what you visioned here, could give our hero V a fighting change in the Temperance ending? If Bartmoss is beyond the blackwall, then why should it be and end for V either, and linking up with Bartmoss to bring V back to the living could be a fascinating storyline / sidequest material for CP Orion. Just saying 🙂

  9. I definitely agree that he is alive, great video. I’m absolutely dying for some new Phantom Liberty news or atleast patch 1.7. Unfortunately nothing new 😭 I want the devs to take their time and do a great job, but I also can’t wait so long

  10. Ohhh man choom so i decided to start a new game to pick up on juicy content but if you stop and listen to gary the prophet after talking to him once on the way into viks for the 1st time when you leave to meet up with Dex listen what Gary has to say he speaks of the soulkillers being stuck screaming but their voices cant be heard and "the ice queen lilith" is supposed to be Alt he goes into a very indepth detail using metaphors of whats about to happen then corpos eventually kidnapps his ass for well simple asf stating facts but i wonder what happened to Gary and if we will see him in Phantom cause man ole man for a conspiracy theorists they seem to be tellin truth!

  12. Man, this game would have been on another level if the dev's had had time to fine-tune the rpg mechanics to account for exotic loot and items. There's so much lore to link to loot in the Cyberpunk world.
