  1. But they only talk about bugs etc. What about gameplay mechanics that were promised ? Until they bring those mechanics, for me this game will not be considered as fixed ! Just watch gameplay videos from 2018-2019.

  2. Dude really scapegoated the testers. We know that is bullshit, though

And the video doesn't address them cutting features and A.I that doesn't come close to PS3 era games. The lies. Even in the apology. The game would be poor without the bugs.

I will say, you are right. If he doesn't lie there, he is absolutely screwed legally. But…they should be screwed legally.

  3. What it sounds to me like is that they most likely had the PC version more or less where they thought it was acceptable, this is of course the version they showed everyone in trailers and otherwise (and only the stuff they wanted you to see) but it's just like how 2K Games has more or less ruined Rockstar Games' reputation as an anti-corporate bastion of consumers everywhere, where the logo is synonymous with quality. They wanted a 2020 holiday release across ALL platforms and the financial people, the investors, were probably like "We've waited long enough and spent enough money, just release the game and we'll fix it with patches as need be". That would be like taking a boat with multiple holes and fractures in the hull and selling it somebody after showing them images of what it used to look like when it was still functional, only to bring it out of the garage and you see it in the state it's in and they're like "Well… sorry, a deal's a deal. We do have a LOT of band aids though… hands customer a box let's start patching this thing up shall we?"

  4. It's the same thing that happened to Rockstar Games. The developers were probably begging for more time, but the money people were like "More time? You know how long we've been waiting for this?" And probably several behind the scenes fights took place surrounding it. But ultimately, big money interests will win. That's why in spite of how great Rockstar Games are at developing games, more and more and more we've seen them making decisions that completely contradict what they used to be about to such an extent now I doubt they'll ever make a game that has no capacity for Multiplayer and the sale of shark cards or gold bars or some equivalent thing again. Rockstar in spite of forging an entire career and company culture that brutally satirizes corporations and corporate culture, has become the very thing they made fun of this entire time. Well, 2K Games especially, but unfortunately most people are only familiar with the R* logo.

  5. Would you sell somebody a boat with holes in it after promising that it's basically the Titanic? No? Why sell anything else in a broken or unfinished state? Only software developers get away with this shit.

  6. Man its sad to see how scammy society has become and how much people worship the dollar. Part of the fix is refusing to pre order to force developers to innovate and put out good products. We are plagued by the illusion as consumers we have no power when we have all the power. Dont like in game purchaes dont play or buy games with them. Dont preorder a game period. Dont purchase it until respected reviewers have demonstrated its worth playing. Dont rush to buy things until you know they are proven. We are too trigger happy and short cited in today’s society.

  7. The game for me is 60% completed. 70% with car customization. 80% with corp war, business, and housing system. 90% with flying cars and racing. 100% with A.I, romance, and other systems. This is another no man's lie game. They did make the game better, but it's already too late. I think those DLCs are the one I listed above.

  9. At least he made a video to apologize. If your company is publicly traded, you ARE at the mercy of the board/investors. Don't kid yourself. This co-founder is taking his lumps BUT he probably protested the decision to release the game and was over-ridden by the board. The board probably wanted to begin making money on direct sales and didn't want to wait any longer. It's the nature of the beast of business in the U.S. The solution is fight the urge to buy early and force yourself to wait. It won't guarantee a perfect game but it will decrease the level of disappointment going forward.

  10. it's like games either have no ambition (godfall I'm looking at you) or too much ambition(Cyberpunk 2077)…..since Skyrim i don't mind games that come out with bugs….but the hype for this game made it seem like it would have a release like god of war…..it did not(que sad music)

  11. i still think their first mistake was to give such an early release date in the first place, turning off investors in mass. and placing so much of their development funds into investment….. that december delay was disasterous for them, they shouldnt have placed the delayed release date so close to the last. at the time i was in the opinion that if they did delay AGAIN especially with how much investment they lost, the game may not have a chance to release at all considering the covid situation. a bad year, poorly planned out decision making, and losing investor trust because of it, well this was the result of that. i think that in november when they decided to only delay it for another month is the moment they sewed their fate. i would have been fine if they had delayed it for 5 months, and their previous promises of the last delay being till november was the last grain of trust they had, their last real chance, they should have given us a much later date, or a quarter not a date in 2021 far before november even.

the one BIG thing they need to change, and should never have done is to place certianty, and promises in the hands of investors and gamers alike. its a product that in development has absolutely none of those qualities. a game is only ready when its finished, and unfortunately thats just the way development works, and tech in general, 1 step forward two steps back, and if youre lucky, 1 step forward and a lightbulb moment. and you cant really place a date on that, especially right now, much less last year, and in general; EVER. promises of last delays, and certian dates, especially in the state it was in. i think it was pride that got the best of them. while not a flaw in their character, they applied their pride in the wrong ways, and almost dug their own grave. they already burried one foot, but that never had to happen. i do believe they honestly thought it would be ready, but made promises before they knew if they could deliver. there is such a thing as being too open, especially as a developer. it adds confusion and uncertianty to the audience and investors when things dont go as planned, which they almost never do.

its a "hold my beer" moment, then they ran too fast in crocs and tripped over their own feet.

    do i believe them? yes
could they have done things differently if they didnt make brazen promises? yes
should they have ever made a promise of a last delay, or given dates so close together? NO

what they should have done to avoid all these issues, especially with the next gen consoles coming out at the same time as the game, investors banking on that….. they should have given an initial release date of sometime between Q4 2020 – Q3 2021. and then given a definitive release date once they got tons of proper gameplay testing in and were certian it was ready. communication is great, but making promises youre not sure you can keep, especially as a business can destroy your business, and i think theyve learned their lesson from this blunder.

basically, once they started making promises of release, they sealed their fate. my biggest problem is the AI, lack of diverse activities, minimap, and how completely untested the last gen console release was. but id never put them on the level of EA or bethesda, considering how many games theyve worked on, and in general their inexperience as a self publisher in that respect….. i hope they take this as a lesson and work to never make those mistakes again, the last thing id want is to see cdpr go under because of broken promises and pride.

there are too many factors that went into this terrible release to even begin to cover, not to mention we have no idea how bad it was internally. but it was basically an avalanche of pr blunders, and lost funding…. they need to choose their words carefully when speaking to the public. and promise is a swear word in pr, big no no, 250k in the swear jar.

  13. It's funny seeing all the people complaining about ps4 crashing. I personally know 6 people who played the entire game with less than 3 crashes, I've seen DOZENS of comments online saying their game ran fine. Then I think back to the times I'd go over to most of my old houses to play xbox or ps3 and cringed at how badly they took care of their systems. Here is a list of things I have personally seen, at least 2 things every time and even all 4 in some cases.

    1. never cleaned dust out of their system for YEARS. PC players clean their system 1-2 times a year.
    2. kept them in places with zero airflow like inside a closed cabinet or putting stuff like books on top (not even joking)
    3. placed on top of other hardware like a stereo receiver that gets extremely hot and blows hot air straight up to where the console sits
    4. never power cycled their system leaving it either completely on 24/7 or in sleep mode when not using it
    0. hardware dies between 5-7 years (look up pc hardware lifespan). Looking at sales data, most people have a 5-7 year old ps4.

dust > heat > memory failure > crash

    heat + time > solder/joint wear > hardware failure

I guarantee you that if you have a console, you have never cleaned it and if you were to open it up right now there would a lot of dust in it.

Cyberpunk never crashed on my 150 hour playthrough on PC with a 3080 running ultra rtx, 100+ fps. It crashed twice on my dads xbox one x 50 hour playthrough. It crashed 1-3 times for the 6 people I know who played on ps4. A hardware related software issue like widespread crashing does not randomly work well for some people using the exact same hardware. How can hundreds of people that I've seen online and all my friends not experience unplayable game breaking 20+ crashes using the exact same hardware in their ps4?

Also CDPR released 30 minute gameplay footage comparing old gen to current gen before release and it was obvious then that the games looked different in terms of graphics and that old gen had less npcs, etc.

Yes the game is missing cop ai… that's about it. nothing else was a straight up lie. Not having enough choice in a game where your choice has literal impact isn't a lie even if you think its not enough choice. The world isn't "alive"? I literally saw an npc drop food on the ground look around then drop down and eat it off the floor. There are 80+ open world encounters each with its own quest. Alive is subjective. My bad that's right. Open world is only alive if you can go bowling lol.

  14. I just love how this apology video came out, almost EXACTLY right after Angry Joe's video review dropped. It's like Marcin actually felt like he was taken to the principal's office. Also, 3:54 is when Alex completely tuned out.

  15. why do u keep saying they need a few more months. the devs said they were years behind. u even listed all the cut content in your angry review. how do they even come close to finishing those in a few months? and remember they lied about the reason for removing 3rd person and flying cars. BOTH WERE LIES as revealed by devs interview. they lied from the start, so they weren't just a few months behind. they knew they couldn't finish the game the moment they started promoting it.

  16. Tbh it's a bullshit apology vid, too many excuses is all I hear! My excitement the day I got it on release was absolutely crushed when starting the game. I will return when it's finished which will be a long time, hoping to play it on ps5 if I ever manage to get hold of one.. Cos ps4 version what I have is just a mess, it's the worst looking game I've seen on ps4..CDPR make this right, nuff said

  17. Exactly, I'm quite disappointed that they didn't address all the features which they promised and never been added to the game(and we know they in like 2016 discard them- wall-running, flying cars, car ambushes, etc., so it was known for some time=and therefore lying). Bugs and glitches are the obvious targets to fix and direct the apology and even though it was sometimes unplayable because of them, the main problem was lack of features, stupid AI, etc…I hope they will go the way No Man Sky went, where the story is similar(hype, overpromised things/features, etc.),but for I know(and from Internet Historian :D), they repaired most of them and became the game everybody hoped for and wanted…So go to work CD Projekt!

  18. This game should not have even been released on old gen consoles. CDPR should have just waited until next gen consoles weren’t in such short supply, which would’ve given them a lot more leniency in hardware limitations for such an ambitious game as well as more time to deliver the product they promised.

  19. I made a best decision. I just didn't buy the game. I do not understand all the pre-order hype for digital product. I mean… you'll still get that on day one if you want, it's not Collector's Edition box that sells out quickly and is gone forever.
I still didn't purchase and will not do until later, maybe year 2022 ?

I'm such a slowpoke and still have Blood and Wine to complete. Thank god.
