  1. Loved your walktrought! I completely agree with your thoughts on the nature of Seo Mi's actions and that this is probably a good outcome for Reed. And I'm really glad this made V closer with Johny. Also, this is the only ending where Alex survives and calls you later to meet at a bar!

P.S. Cool detail that So Mi sends you a present from the moon later, after a week or something

  2. I can safely say personally after exploring the other paths for this I’ll always stick to this path it just feels right when it’s all said and done but going back to the junction and helping Reed all the way is an extremely interesting journey that adds even more to Songbird, still emotional that made me cry like a baby

  3. 5:30 – Fun fact, there's a "suspicious man" sitting down in the alley near the van, looking like a vagrant, but if you go behind him, you'll find a datashard that logs surveillance activity, because he's an NUSA operative, and after the ending of the Killing Moon, if you go back to the alley (where Son Mi has also left a message you can find), the shard will have a record of V entering the van and the operative tipping off his superiors. Also, wait a few days more, and there'll be a couple of codas, one involving Alex, one involving someone else.

  4. We on the same wavelength. I didn't want to hurt Reed but Songbird and V story is too in sync not to empathize. I just don't want Songbird to be a permanant tool or dead and Reed being a NUSA hand puppet makes it so sad that we couldn't see eye to eye.

Also there is an extra scene with Alex if you advance some days

  5. If you watch the movie Liam Neeson Les Miserable. A good soldier always obey the government law. Reed is one of them, a good soldier never betray the system. But he believed So Mi did the right thing. If you shoot him, he will die as a good soldier. If Reed lets them go, he will be the most wanted for the rest of his life.

  6. Looking at this comment section gave me hope that saving So Mi is considered the good ending to PL. I genuinely felt bad for her, have a irl distrust of powerful organizations, and even when she admitted she regretted not being honest with us I wasn't surprised but also not mad. I understood her not just in the RP aspect but in an irl aspect. So Mi wanted freedom from the powers that abused her and would continue to abuse her if she returned to them. Meyers wants her as a WMD, Reed wants to salve his guilt while staying loyal to a government that had used everyone he knew, Hansen wanted a way to fuck with the NUSA. Even after all the people that had been hurt by all the parties involved I believe So Mi deserves the chance to begin again.

I look at it this way. Theres a moment with Panam when you ask her if she misses being in Night City and she says something to the effect of "Some of it. The sense of freedom and a new beginning. But I haven't forgotten the loneliness. Having no friends or family." When I think about The Tower ending you get if you side with Reed just has that moment with Panam playing through my head over and over. Sure, the NUSA succefully got the chip out, the one ending where its guaranteed you'll live, but at the cost of losing all your friends and family.

At the end of the day PL and 2077 as a whole made me think and that's what a good story should do. Make you think.

  7. I got another ending, no spoilers but it was an even worse gut punch feeling at the end of the dlc. But it felt like the right thing to do, the thing my StreetKid V would've done. It stems from the help Reed ending. Thanks for playing I really enjoyed your playthrough!

  8. 48:17 "that's a brutal way to kill them!" The Blackwall is doing something far worse. It's basically deleting their consciousness and shutting down their cyberwear. Like pulling the plug on a computer without shutting it down while it's saving data.

The song that plays during your standoff with Reed is called "test of loyalty" very fitting for the scene presented to you. The music in this game is some of the best I've ever heard.

  9. I find it interesting, watching other people's playthroughs, and how they feel about the way events play out. When I started Phantom Liberty it was with my first V, level 50 and having completed every quest and gig up until the point of no return for the main story. I entered into the expansion playing my V with the mindset that if something sounded too good to be true, it probably was, but V would do his best to help do good regardless.

From the moment Songbird said she could cure V, I had my suspicions, so I went forward helping save the president with the mindset that So Mi was lying. By the time it came out that So Mi was dying, and that the Neural Matrix could somehow cure both V's and So Mi's conditions, I was convinced it would probably only be able to save on or the other, not both.

When she admitted that she lied to V on the train all I wanted to say was "Yeah… I figured that was probably the case." I kinda wish there could've been a dialogue option for players who figured it out, for So Mi to say something like "You… you knew? And you helped me anyway? Why?" and for V to respond with something like "Because you needed me to."

  10. ngl, that headshot to Reed was brutal but at least it was instant.

Also if you shot him in the chest, he'll say "Too damn…slow" as he tries to get up and then dies kneeling, head down and looking at So Mi. It's quite dramatic and tragic for Reed

  11. 51:45. When i played PL, i went with Songbird knowing she still wasn't telling the whole truth.
But when we got here, like you I wasn't mad. She was doing everything she could to survive. I had to respect that Hustle. She earned that trip to the Moon.

  12. Hey, are you going to play other ending? Betraying Songbird i mean…

The route is drastically different, and i personally think it's better, storytelling wise.
