It’s here, arguably this years most anticipated game launch has arrived so it’s time to find out if Cyberpunk 2077 VR / Cyberpunk 2077 in VR is possible… This is probably my most requested Will it VR episode ever & I worked all morning to try and get it working with no joy but then this afternoon an update for Vorpx dropped & it now works! Cyberpunk 2077 VR is real thanks to this Vorpx profile but Will it VR? and is it worth playing like this right now… let’s find out!

This Cyberpunk 2077 Vorpx profile is a work in progress, that’s probably the most important thing to bear in mind when trying to experience some Cyberpunk 2077 VR mode / Cyberpunk 2077 VR gameplay for yourself. I have a pretty solid PC setup but to achieve desirable/playable results in Vorpx I needed to drop my graphics settings to medium (and then eventually all the way to low) to be able to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 VR. It didn’t look the prettiest but it didn’t look BAD by any stretch of the imagination. Cyberpunk 2077 Vorpx headtracking was smooth after a little tinkering & it felt reasonably immersive once I was really into the action (gun fights feel particularly chunky & dangerous) but at the moment there is only Z Adaptive 3D & Z Normal 3D options in the Cyberpunk 2077 Vorpx profile which will be a deal breaker for many as although they offer depth & scale it isn’t the true 3D experience & does throw up some strange graphical glitches.

At this point I am blown away with the dedication & work with the guys at Vorpx (realistically probably one guy… looking at you Ralf) and I have no doubt that this profile for Cyberpunk will be an incredible & immersive way to play this game in VR after some further tweaks & changes. For now however I’d say experience it on a flatscreen with all the bells and whistles & then come back to Cyberpunk VR / Cyberpunk 2077 VR when the Vorpx profile has been fine tuned to perfection. It shows huge promise, but it’s not quite there yet and doesn’t quite compete with the best Vorpx games 2020…

  1. I've been trying to get this working since midnight last night! First Steam decided to die & then it wouldn't hook into Vorpx this morning BUT then an update dropped for Vorpx which made it work, massive thanks to Ralf at Vorpx who works tirelessly to get this stuff out for us all to enjoy! For a day one profile this is very impressive, I'll be keeping my eye on it over the next few weeks

  2. This is great. Well done mate, top marks.. Shame I bought CP77 on Stadia – which is great and I can play it through Oculus on Stadia but not as a VR experience that I know of.

  3. I understand VR and all good stuff but picture is terrible. What's the point having VR if you see some blurry ugly models? Even original size it looks too blurry and on 4k monitor it is terrible.

P.S. Ooh and I just noticed – you never show close ups. Why should people see ugly faces?

  4. i tried vorpx for 10 minutes in Black Mesa and Cyberpunk and it really sucks – flickering guns, black edges/bars on the top and bottom of the image, strange movements, a on my head bind/floating interface that totally ruins the immersion – i never ever would play a game like that … hope i get a refund of this tool!

  5. Im having issues getting it to work on my nvidia gpu, but seems to work just fine on my RX580. Otherwise all my games seem to work fine. The only thing I can think of there must be a bug in the game or the gpu driver thats causing it. I didnt want to purchase vorpx because performance on the 3 series with the oculus quest 2 under cyberpunk seems to be a mixed bag. Strangely though every other game ive thrown at it works just fine. I assume it must be some kind of driver issue as i get a flickering screen when playing and a slideshow. But on my desktop with the RX580 it plays straight out of the box.
