Lead Quest Designer plays Cyberpunk 2077! #17

The bulk of today’s adventures have been focused on exploring Open World on Badlands – we have also paid respects to Scorpion and at the end visited Nomad camp to continue our adventure with Panam on the next stream.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world RPG that I have co-created. As I love talking about design, storytelling and psychology in games, I have started streaming on Twitch and discussing it all with my audience.

My goal is to share everything I have learned over a decade in AAA games industry, openly exchange ideas, explain creative decisions and encourage the next generation of game designers and storytellers to create.

  1. Just finished the Corpo playthru … 90% stealth … finished all the side quests … took 492 hours which is twice as long as I ever played on any other game.
I'm going to wait a few months and then play again.
Thanks for such a great/beautiful game.
I'm on PC and experienced just a couple funny glitches (like floating trash bags) and my framerate hovered around 80fps on Ultra, so no complaints.
It's less buggy than any Assassins Creed I've played.

  2. LOL @ 27:20 "Why should I heal? I'm fiiine"

Famous last words indeed. I lied to myself this way as well (multiple times!) before dying lol. Great session as always Pawel. Thank you again so much for you and your team's continued hard work. <3

  3. I've been anxiously awaiting this all day! The timestamps are the best. Thank you so much for answering my question about why 2077 Kerry was introduced so late in the game to V and in so much detail. it makes perfect sense! you were close with my handle name 😉 i definitely love Kerry, as ive told you on twitter before. he's inspired so much creativity in me… To the point where i have done two music videos so far… Off the Leash was the first then Chippin' In Kerry's version. The "It's all about you" initiative came out a few days later so i submitted them since i cant draw but i can let my creativity out this way and by Virtual Photography.

  5. Hey Pawel. First of all, congrats to the CDPR team for winning the award for best 3D models…..you definitely deserved it. Also, congrats on hiring those amazing modders to your development team. I haven't had time to watch the stream yet, but did just want to say that I love the changes made to the traffic AI. It's a massive improvement. Pedestrian AI is also much improved in most places……but it does still need a bit more work. Some bystanders will still remain crouched in place, after a firefight, indefinitely…..that seems to be the main problem. Great work overall, though, & can't wait to see what's coming next. Game looks amazing with Ray-tracing too, btw.

  6. Just wanted to say keep up the great work, update 1.3 is fantastic, I was alreday loving the game since I picked it up literally the day of patch 1.2 but this has added so much. Really looking forward to future updates and congratulations on hiring some modders, I'm sure they will be a great addition to an alreday amazing team of devs at CDPR. On a side note the Overwatch is my favorite sniper rifle, in my current build I've got it up to 1917dps, 1313-1606 physical damage and 577 crit damage, its insane!!

  7. Give us back our reflections the downgrades makes no sense it looked realistic before. The downgrade makes zero sense in rainy weather or after it just rained. Game looks bland and terrible so why the fuck would you remove almost beautiful part of the game? It's pathetic nearly every open world city game on consoles blows this game away in every way. You people are terrible at making open world games you had more then 10yrs on making this piece of shit.

  8. Love this game, characters, story, and world! Never played a game like this, truly a breathtaking masterpiece! I've done three playthroughs, around 320 hours, I always choose Panam! One thing I noticed in all my playthroughs is that every time, no matter what weather was going on cloudy, rain, or a mix of both, whenever I went to go see Panam the weather cleared up and became sunny and blue skies. She is such an amazing person/character and seeing that happen each time I always took that as a sign, that she is truly unique and special. Don't know if the weather clearing up was intentional or not, but it always gave me this great feeling inside! Panam is the best character and love interest in the game IMO, she is incredible! Thanks for the stream Pawel as always, cant wait to see where the story goes for V and the characters.

  9. I think it'd be great if you had someone on the programming and engine development side of the project be a guest on one of your streams some day. You talked a lot in this stream (and elsewhere) about how big of a patch 1.3 was, but from the user-facing perspective it felt like a small, incredibly incremental update. Hearing an explanation about the kind of stuff that actually got changed behind the scenes that made it a big patch would be great. A huge list of fixed bugs is one thing, but when most of those are quest-specific and pretty much all of the problems players had on day one are still there hearing "1.3 was a big patch" repeatedly feels like we're being gaslit.
