Jackie Welles Deserved his Death ( THE Biggest Plot Twist in Cyberpunk 2077 )

Early story-board ideas for Jackie Welles depicted him to be a “villain” –
an “A-hole” that betrays V.

Though obviously canned – after diving deeper into the various interactions with the character – psychoanalyzing Jackie, you start to realize the mans true colors; and that maybe it wasn’t “cancelled” at all..

*Considering CD Project Red’s “more than meets the eye” story telling – I wouldn’t be surprised if every single detail in this THEORY was intentional.

yes folks… its just a theory in the end of the day – a conversation starter in reality. ion wonna offend nobody kek

  2. How did you take him being a merc to being a narcissist in less than two minutes without a mention of narcissistic behavior? Street Kid V he doesn't know. If you know anything about corpos you dont all willy-nille step in and only does when they're about to off you and btw, this is exactly why he doesn't want to help because corpos will fuck you and he sees whats coming before you do, and you could just have a working relationship. Just like Street Kid V he doesn't know Nomad V, and he doesn't say kill you though it could be implied, it'd be more like ghost you once in the city. That's just being a merc in Night City. This is a stretch. I'm not saying the goomba is a loyal guy, but do you think Vic or Misty would be friends with him if that were the case? You dont make it far alone in the city.

Though I'll admit if he lived and became someone you had to deal with itd be a fun exercise.

  3. It's not a "narcisstic asshole" it's called being a merc, V would've done the same had us were in his boots, in a city where everyone betray each other and getting killed is as easy as crossing a road, Jackie is just behave like any other merc. 'Cept he's more happy go lucky dumb family guy which is a common characteristic for loyal MC sidekick.

You should've clear your brainrot of internet psychology "lesson" and get off twitter bro. What's this clickbait ass L take.

  4. Well I dont think he is manipulator for example like corpo V what if V were manipulator cause he needed somebody who will help or do his dirty job🧐. And if he is manipulator why he risked his live in Heist gig and put JS engram to his personal link and didnt forced or wait and let to V do it.
Well I hope that this video was just some joke or social experiment cause it was all pityful.
Jackie was really Vs real chumb who show him NC and path as merc if there wasnt Jackster V could end up in bathtub like Sandra dorset (killed and then taken his/her cyberware by Scavs)

  5. This is actually something I've been thinking about for years and I never see anyone talk about. For some reason during the heist, the options I pick (it's happened twice on different files) have Jackie suddenly acting like an asshole to my V. And it was completely by accident and all I could think about was "Was this really all it took for him to treat me like shit?" It made it hard for me to even feel bad as he was dying. I even showed the dialogue to my friend who didn't believe me that Jackie could act in a negative way towards V. He was as perplexed as I was but it felt like Jackie was showing his true colors when tension was at it's highest. I don't think he intentionally tries to manipulate V but a lot of his dialogue proprells V into these horrible situations.

  6. Don't speak ill of the dead. Your accusations are weak at best. You used his background as a poor Heywood kid as if it was some plot to get rich off of V. He tells you from the start that the cut between you and him will be 50/50, which is beyond fair for a newbie like V. Normal guys usually only get 30% cut, Jackie was always willing to split 50/50 with V.

Out of all the characters that you meet in Night City, Jackie might have been the only TRUE friend V ever had. He helps us when we're down, invites us to stay at Mama Welles until we can get our own place and invites us along some jobs to get a feel of the merc life. He isn't out to screw over V, his dream is to make it big so he can get out of the poor life in Heywood. With the eddies we earn during those months we're able to buy a place of our own and even a car, while Jackie spends his eddies on his custom guns and his Arch bike. He isn't using V as you try to imply.

As Nomad V, he could've just bailed on us with the cargo and left us with nothing. But he didn't. Instead he invites us to start a new life in Night City.
As Corpo V, he tells us straight that the corpo life will sooner or later screw us over, that it's better to become free from corpos than becoming a slave to them. He later could've taken our money and just left us there but he didn't. He was there for V when V literally lost everything.
As StreetKid V, yes he places a gun at our head but that's something he would've done to anyone else since he wanted the car, he later says that V is alright because we tried to help one of his homies. No hard feelings, literally.

Jackie is an extremely well written character with a good moral compass, yes he is a mercenary but won't stoop as low as to murder someone for cash. He is the only true friend V has in the entire game (perhaps besides Vik). All the other friends that you meet sooner or later abandons you depending on which ending you chose. Jackie was the only real friend V had in Night City.

You tried to make Jackie into some manipulative villain but failed to convince me. Jackie was the only real friend V ever had in Night City and you tried to paint him as some narcissistic scumbag.

  7. One thing I can certainly agree on is, Jackie can be very naive and is easily manipulated by his own grand desires of fame and material things. He wants to go big, because he wants to prove to himself that he can be better than anyone else in Heywood, including the Valentinos. First he grew up with an abusive father in a very bad neighborhood. Second he lost many of his family because of the gang and gang violens. They are either dead or in prison. I guess those are the big events in his life, where he started to think about a plan to leave his old life behind, so he can proove to himself, he can make it and actually be somebody and not some lowlife street thug.

  8. Nah. This is a reach and really depends on which playthrough you do. First: V is 23/24 and they were going to be 27. Jackie doesn't have a whole decade of experience, the age thing doesn't hold much weight – it is arbitrary. V wasn't some noob. They had a past, a history – some knowledge. 2nd: V wasn't desperate until AFTER the death of Jackie. If anything Jackie was the one who was isolated and desperate – he just didn't have "it", maybe he recognized that in V. Jackie could never get those implants and be like V.

V (through your own actions) can be JUST as manipulative and opportunistic, if not more. A lot of the fucked up options that pop up for V would absolutely never occur to Jackie as options. If Jackie deserved his death, then so does V and so does Johnny. The point of Night City is that it (and the forces ruling it) twists everyone and everything with ambition. Ambition to change their environment and change themselves.
