  1. Johnny is the only one where his existence is still up in the air remember nobody knows where Johnny's body is after he got soulkilled canonically Saburo didn't do the deed himself Spider Murphy actually had a version of Soulkiller from Alt that she used on Johnny when he died fighting Smasher.

  2. It recently occurred to me: Arasaka never lost access to the DaiOni blueprints and specs. So why would they need something like the Cyberskeleton? Maybe because the DaiOni is very difficult to match to a user. People with strong enough minds (like Smasher) are not a dime a dozen, and of them, not all are capable of withstanding the stress of the DaiOni AND a modified Alpha borg. From the anime, it looks like the Cyberskeleton isn't easier on the humanity than an improperly done borg conversion (it's supposed to be a more careful process than 'rip yourself out of some of your chrome then link your neuralware to the suit and run the install software'). Though, David's spiral may have something to do with how he went through adding chrome willy-nilly. And I'd bet his old ripper didn't install them all properly either. 🤔

  3. What if Arasaka sold or made a deal with BioTechnica to make David clones? Theyd be absolute drones sure but it was Davids ability to handle cybernetics that made him a key asset for arasaka and they only need his body for that (or whatever info they forwarded to Tanaka in the show), not his soul or psyche. If they get David clones they get drones that they can chrome the fuck up and do whatever they want with. (I think this is all a stretch but would make for a really cool ending fight or elite enemy)

  4. I doubt that arasaka would soulkill every kid that entered their academy. They are basically still nobody’s. One place that Martinez would have been soul killed is in the truck where the cyber skeleton was housed. They got the data of its performance and even the first users engram, a win win if you ask me.

  5. While I get why theories like this exist, I also feel like it's just kinda disrespectful. Or at the very least woefully silly. If David were to somehow survive it would basically make the entire ending of edgerunners hollow. The climax is those feelings of loss and bittersweetness. Having the MC just pop back up would destroy all that build up. I think people who buy into these types of theories have the entire meaning of the ending fly over their heads. Every ending doesn't need to be happy. That's one of the core aspects of cyberpunk. "Wrong city, wrong people."

  6. Lmfao see i feel like johnny and david is trapped as well as the other people to have caused damage to any of the corpos (weapons of display like fairaday said) and as smasher said what a waste of a construct so why then would you be terminated like i cant wait until phantom and orion hell anything they wanna put into the cyberpunk universe at this point chooms!! And i really hoping my lil choomba (becca) is hidding out somewhere maybe be beat to shit and blown to fuck but 2nd heart is a thing right….right?!

  7. That was fun choom. I was just thinking about this the other day, how awesome you made some content on it. I was kinda wondering if smasher actually like david in a way since he got to know him in a way. And then I was thinking how crazy it is to be Smasher 😂

  8. Depends on CDPR. At this point if Smasher killed him that would be for the best. If not he would probably be Smasher's replacement since Smasher died in the main game? That is if David was kept as a test subject. Gonna fight a brainwashed David with altered memories with high powered Sandy. I'm rooting at he died part. Dude's been through hell enough let him rest.

  9. We need to end this trend of keeping stories and their characters alive way beyond their expiration. David's life is over, literally and figuratively. Edgerunners series needs a new protagonist that goes up against Night City.

  10. World of Cyberpunk, and the concept of constructs, soulkiller, etc. is oddly fascinating, even if very creepy. I mean, with the rise of AI chat bots in the last year, imagine if somebody who wrote a detailed diary since he/she was able to write, and would upload that to one of those AI bots. It would have a very good database of that person, adding a voice, and 3d-image with facial expressions, and there we go. Give that tech another fifty years to develope, and in 2073 we could very well be frighteningly close to something presented in Cyberpunk…

  11. Another great video. In the world of cyberpunk where your consciousness can exist past your physical end, I think many of us were hoping to see David return

but his story is one of heroism, self sacrifice in the face of insurmountable odds, and dying on your own terms. If he were miraculously brought back I think it would take away from his ending

  12. If Johnny Silverhands memories were confirmed to be affected by his cyber psychosis there's a slight chance I'd believe David could still be alive in some way. But I feel like Davids story ends in edgerunners. Every story no matter how much you love it eventually has it's end.

  13. I hope David-kun is dead. It wouldn't feel right bringing him back from the dead. He died a heroric, tragic death to save Lucy and undoing that would be a waste although it would make sense that Arasaka might have his memories recorded. Even when we have a slight "win", Saka is always there in the shadows 10 steps ahead.

  14. if he comes back, i think the only believable way, is if the "everything past Jimmy Kurosaki is a braindance" theory is true. i am not a big fan of the theory but we cant really discredit it until we have a official response saying so
